When I worked there I noticed they hired alot of younger kids out of school who have no experience or work ethics and have the mentality of "want it now" and not willing to work hard for their money in other words pure laziness. For menial work at minimum wage it is what it is if you didn't complete your grade 12 or go to college this is the type of factory work you maybe stuck with? Kids don't understand that companies have to meet demands of their customers and if unless you are making lots of mistakes like it sounds the person complaining did the owners had no issues and treated you fairly sorta like family. The use of Vietnamese is to fill the void for lack of response from local people who would rather sit on welfare than work for minimum wage. Business's need to have workers either way you look at it and why should it matter what ethnic back ground you belong to? The comment about over time and shift work is absurd considering all business have to follow the rules set out by the ministry and shift work is everywhere you go nowadays. Sounds like this worker had a chip on their shoulder. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a job long term and enjoys working as a team. I ended up back in school but miss the people here. Don't let a bad review by a disgruntled worker make your decision for you

The work isn’t particularly difficult. If you can work at a fast pace, and be on your feet all day, you should be fine. The facility is very nice. Lockers are provided, employees can access the store/deli for breaks, and the lunch room is equipped with a fridge and microwaves.
Packers get minimum wage, and shouldn’t expect to be recognized for going above the status quo, or expect any kind of yearly raise. Benefits are ok, but you have to put in 6 months, and then request them. The RRSP savings plan is a great option.
Work/life balance is challenging, mostly because there is no regular shift rotation. You never know until the Friday before if you will be on days or nights the following week. The work schedule is actually posted on a daily at the end of your shift. For the most part, hours are quite steady, but there are occasions where full time hours are not available. The company utilizes Vietnamese temps, with many of them not speaking English. They do however get the preferred hours, as they work straight days.
Information seems to be shared with a handful of employees, while the balance of employees get bits in a trickle down effect. 
The company puts on a lovely Christmas party each year.

Garbage pay and garbage management. Had to claw and scratch to get a 50 cent raise. Supervisor's were very child like, played games with your job, and acted anything but someone who is looking out for you. Lots of talking behind your back, supposed to be rotated 4 times per shift ends up being stuck in the same position 8-10 hours all based on Supervisors prerogative & how they like you. Plant manager's sit in there office and puts blinders on too any real problems on the floor until higher ups come into the plant, THEN you may see them make an appearance. Your shift schedule and job duties lies solely on how much you are liked upon higher ups and supervisors. Perform even remotely poorly or complain in training and pay the price. Employee's who have long lasted there a burnt out and have a "IDGAF" or "Not my problem" attitude. Owners don't even have enough social skills to say "Hello" or "Is there anything I can help you with?" All in all, just work somewhere else and save yourself the mental anguish. 

It was a good place at first, but it's pretty much a revolving door as you see new hires come and go within their first week. They'll work you for a month on days and then all of the sudden they will switch you to nights the Fri before the week you go on nights. You better not get sick during you're first 3 months either or they'll punish you for missing days and throw you on night shift claiming "your training was up" after a month and a half on days. A lot of passing the buck too from line supervisors who can't be responsible enough to admit they messed up. Long hours with just 2 10 min breaks and a 30 minute lunch for 10 hour shift. Doesn't give much time to eat. 

If you want to be treated poorly then this is the place for you. The owner and his son will belittle you any chance they get. All they care about are there orders being met even if there isn't enough time provided to do so with no reward in salary. The turn over rate is so bad they just use vietnamese temp workers that do not speak English then expect everyone else to pick up the slack. It is an extremely fast pace environment with zero reward, you are also forced to work shift work were the night shift works until 3:00am under the supervision of extremely unqualified and unprofessional individuals.

I joined, and in the first week I was exhausted and sad. My first week days, next week nights. It continued in that pattern so much that I was suicidal by week four. My body couldn't take the constant switching, especially with my medication schedule I was on that had to keep changing week by week. I finally quit after only five weeks, after a visit and on the advice of a doctor.

Management uses government funded programs to subsidize wages while in "training" and then extends your "training" as incomplete until funding expires. It is amazing that when hired as "permanent" it suddenly turns into "seasonal" shortly after funding expires.

Working for this company was very high pressure. The company was owned by a farmer and if you did not accept their work ethics, it could be very difficult. An example of this would be, the owner would work at least 70 hours a week and you were expected to do the same, the home life balance was difficult at best.

Generally, if you're liked by the bosses (or are the bosses son) you're left alone. If you're not (have sick days, complain about anything).. they make things difficult. They will randomly change your job.... your shift ect. 

Would only take as last resort tbh

Great place to work if you like to be treated like garbage. People here don't care about you and prove it in the way they treat you. Very poorly managed and unprofessional. If you like supervisors that are basucally children and love highschool drama this is the place for you!
