If you've ever contacted a company, government agency or insurance group and felt "they don't really answer my question", then you understand how this place works.  The policies and rules are often vague.  Practical training is limited as "all the answers are available in your tools" despite there being massive gaps in common customer questions.  They don't crack down on call times like some call centers but that is balanced by not having anyone available to assist front line employees.  

They have a strict "merit-based" approach to bonuses, raises, promotions but in practice rely on technicalities to avoid giving them.  Management, while friendly, are reluctant to help as they don't want to take responsibility for their answers.  

There is also a huge discrepancy in workload; some agents can't go a minute between calls while others literally nap at their desks or walk around and run to their desks when their phone rings.  There is also a strong "call back" culture where agents deflect difficult or detailed queries so it becomes someone else's issue.

3 Stars all the way because it’s not the greatest job or the worst. Though there is a month of training, you need to have good reasoning and researching skills. You are supplied with a reference of info for all of the clients and there is a chat to get help but for the most part, everyone is working from home, and you are on your own. There is a ticket system where you can write for anything you can’t find on your own. Answers can be vague and lead to more questions, people can be demanding but if you don’t take things personally you will be fine. The management is pleasant enough - many don’t seem to know much more than the average CCR. All in all the job can be frustrating at first if you don’t have the information you need but as you learn things get easier. There’s a ton of info to take in and it def takes awhile but becomes more clear 


One of the worst places to work. They treat you as a tool and use you until you are no longer capable of handling it, and the they find a sneaky reason to get rid of you. Insufficient and inadequate training makes everyone overwhelmed during the first couple of weeks. They practically don't care about the employees. During the last year alone I have seen over 30 people come and go out the doors. Poor working conditions, floors do not even get vacuumed daily. No lunch rooms, no place to spend your break.  Can't use your phone even when on break. Awfully managed by people that don't care. And as it happens the number of hires get hugely impacted by the race, as more than two thirds are African-Americans.
Don't recommend it to anyone. The job posting is nothing like what you're going to see at the job.

Excellent company to work for. D. and A. are top instructors. Some days are busier than others, but busy means doing more to help employees of clients and the day goes so fast! A.T. is a great supervisor with weekly review and helpful notes to better your performance. Alight offers a much needed service to rather large companies, in assisting their employees with educated choices in their choice of benefits (dental, medical, special needs coverage), among other things. A very healthy way of spending your day!

Working at Alight Solutions is really great. The leadership team is really supportive and genuinely wants to see you advance in and out of your role. The monthly stats system is pretty harsh and is not very forgiving of human-error but with such personable leaders they really help you advance despite a bad month. 

The calls can definitely become emotional and exhausting but overall the training is good enough to allow you to answer 80% of client inquiries.

When I started out this for me was a great place to work. I was given an opportunity to work in benefits, which I had no experience with, but had a lot of transferable skills. However, there have been a lot of changes to the company since I was hired in 2017. At this point I would say the only thing good about the job is the pay. The work environment is atrocious. No one cares about their job and no one is held accountable for it. So, if you're someone who takes pride in their work, then its very frustrating.

The manager was making comments of my accent, picking on me constantly I started to have panic attacks.

This type of job is working from home and you belong to a team but there’s no such a thing as team 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Inbound and outbound calls, tickets, emails, customer chats, calls are reviewed and no room for error or you’re screwed

It’s the most amazing company to work with, the training and the on floor experience is just incredible and the support provided by the managers is the most important key to success, had a very good time working with Alight Solutions.

Never recommend to anyone. They will keep on extending your contract and then finally hire you, then after 4 months just kick you off providing the position elimination reason without notifying before, just after starting your shift for the day. Very biased management, better to mop floors at restaurants and hotels than working here.

Decent pay, good benefits, Pleasurable work atmosphere. The greatest pleasure is working in benefits to help customers with their Health plans, insurance and defined contributions for retirement. 
A weak spot is in the rare case of internal noise whereas the newer employee is deemed wrong, even if the senior employee was confused.
