I've been working at Allwood as a cabinet maker for a few years now and my overall work experience consistently improves as a result of the diversity of the jobs and projects I get to tackle and the growing benefits and increases in pay that come with my hard work. The company has a good sense of community where everyone knows and gets to work with everyone in some way or another and we all take a lot of pride in what we do. Every position in the company seems to be attainable with enough dedication and ambition, and I've learned a lot about the wider industry from being a part of this team. I see myself at Allwood for a long time to come and have a great deal of excitement for what my future there holds.

Expect too much for too little. 
People in highest level of All Wood lack basic respect for the shop employees. Two tier system... The office workers (above) the shop (below). A hierarchy that does not appreciate who makes them their money. When it's busy, you'll be asked to work overtime til you cant do it anymore... when it's slow you're sent home. Not a problem if you make a good wage, but it's unlikely you'll find it at All Wood. From my experience, I can get twice the work done with one smart person making $20+ an hour than I can with five people making minimum wage; however, All Wood would rather have five people who make minimum wage.

The facility is quite big 70,000 sq ft brand new cnc's panels saws edge banders, drum sanders etc. and they have a metal shop at the back.
The work is always high quality and custom not much box building which is nice as I enjoy the challenge of new one of a kind projects.
Management is solid we have a shop foremen and a Operations Foremen and smaller teams are made up with lead hands on different parts of a project so never a problem with understanding whats going on or getting help when its needed. Worker Safety is paramount!!
I love working here and enjoy coming to work everyday I consider myself very lucky about my career choice hence this review.

I have worked here for over 15 years and am very happy with the professionalism and respect shown to myself and all employees. Since I started the scope of jobs  the company works on has advanced to the highest level of custom cabinetry, working on some of the most challenging jobs in the city,  and my own skill set has grown by leaps and bounds accordingly. 
They treat their employees fairly and the atmosphere is a great combination of businesslike and friendly.

At AWFI everyone works on the same team to tackle high end and challenging projects. We have a track record of producing some of the greatest millwork in commercial jobs in north america and this is very much a result of the hard work and collaboration of the entire team. The pay is good, the hours are good, and there are plenty of employee benefits that add to the intrigue of this already fulfilling and enjoyable job.

I worked at AWFI for 4 years and grew a lot in that time. I left to start my own company but am forever grateful for the mentorship and experience that i received working there. They have a very strong culture, everyone takes a lot of pride in what they do and I always respected that. 

Long hours when required but this is to be expected in an industry where you have deadlines approaching and items left to manufacture. Hard workers are rewarded with opportunity for raises and job advancement. Job culture is lacking and could use improvement.

tight deadlines and working with drawings from contractors.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The project managers are professional and conscientious. The co-workers were easy going and helpful.

Lacks a forward thinking approach. Stuck in old ways of doing things. Management lacks leadership.  
No benefit to working here.
Uninspiring.
So much potential.
