What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working for Alliance/universal traffic group was the extreme work hours and great pay. And the feeling of always being watched and feeling safe.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The dispatch and office is in 1 location. Which in my own personal opinion seemed a bit micromanaged.  But I'm sure such a great company will be able to fix the glitches in the Dispatch,  Area Managment, and HR department.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
2 very different questions based on my experience at the company.  Which may have been the result of a questionable area manager.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I had to call and see if my dispatch was still a go. But that was due to new system. I'm sure the App has been upgraded and bebugged.  Our company had great work contracts. The contractors would always treat you with respect. Always checked on by OHS once again feeling watched and very safe. Great hours, great pay . And being in the great outdoors  was thee best.

Work days vary with each job/contractor 
This job was great and Learned so much until new management 
Manager is shady and goes against union agreement and policies all the time.
Workplace culture is great as long as manager hasn't bribed employees to spy for her
Hardest part is manager
Most enjoyable part is the friends made

Overtime opportunity often times 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Clients/dispatch/oh&s/managers/co-workers/moti/other companies who "know better/safer/faster/more compliant" ways to do things... But they would rather communicate with the employee than try to coordinate the previously mentioned stakeholder parties. Left hand right hand problem on a centipede. Chaos at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Meh. A problem isn't a problem until it's blown out of proportion. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of sitting around waiting for the 12 different departments to get it together...

Typical day at work involved sign set up and take down. Morning meeting at job site to discuses any safety concerns and to talk about what was to been during the days work. I learned a lot about safety on the road and about the hazards on the road. I also learn about paving from the crews I worked with. My co-workers were all great very friendly and knowledgeable about the field they worked in. The hardest part of my job was dealing with the general public as some of them could become hostile. The part I enjoyed most about my job was the fact that I learned lots, met new people and traveled to different parts of the province.

Alliance traffic back in the day was a small group of employees and a great place to work, as they started partnering with other traffic control companies you were no longer known by name, just a number. So much management turn around its hard to get to know your upper management. Union company with senority. Steady contracts. 

This traffic control company is amazing. The co-workers are extremely friendly and they maintain proper breaks and schedules when working conditions go well. Occasionally you may have to skip a break because of high traffic or unexpected circumstances but these won't happen very often with their well trained supervisors and management.

As a new tcp starting wage was 13.39. Union rep was impossible to get ahold of. No travel time was paid. Contract states any shift longer than 16 hours you are intitled to a day off if you ask for it,  Worked a 16 hour shift and was told I must be at my shift.

Fun, busy and challenging enviroment. I was tasked with equipment maintenace, inventory and order signs and saftey equipment. Daily duties include the upkeep of the shop, truck inventory, load and unloading gear as well as inspecting for damages.

If you're new you don't get a lot of work. You're on call so you never know when you're going to work. 
Different work sites on a constant basis. Different co-workers every day. Always changing, always something new.
