I usually don’t post comments online but I feel the need to respond to the comments posted by the former property accountant on July 27th, 2019 and offer my perspective. I worked at Allied for a number of years and left recently. It was a struggle for me to leave because of all the people that are still there, from all departments, who made my work so enjoyable, who taught me and helped me grow. If you want to learn and are not afraid to, this is the perfect place for you. The comment about "gossiping and advantages for the favorites" is, in my opinion, totally unjustified.  If you don’t like gossip, don’t listen to it and let  the gossipers know as much. As for "advantages for the favorites", if it means that people who work hard are given the opportunity to go to the next level then yes, I witnessed that. There are a lot of benefits and opportunities at Allied. People who left Allied for whatever reason would come back and visit the offices. I know I would.

Allie REIT is a urban developer that specializes in reconstruction light industrial and heritage buildings into workable communities.
a typical day would be one where financial reporting was critical in managing the property assigned.   Days would fly by with never enough time to complete all tasks that I wished to accomplish.  I learned that a balance is required in managing tenants needs and providng for them a feeling that they would have a safe and carefully tended work space.  As my team was small we were like an extended close knit family.  The most difficult part of the job was communicating the reasons for a particular course of action that the tenant would perceive as negative impact on their operations, so scheduling repairs, maintenance, and authorizing tenant work was a constant work in progress.  The most enjoyable part of my job was when my tenants and senior management expressed a job well done!  

Worked in maintenance , was in a lead position , property manager thought he knew more about maintenance then I did, I had 10 years in trade and 3rd class power engineering ticket, very demeaning job towards the end. No forward thinking and would rather let things break instead of fixing it before it fails, no point in a preventive maintenance program if that's the way they think. Poor communication and rarely any staff meetings. Maintenance staff get no paid lunch, but will  expect you to work through your lunch if it fits them, office employee's get paid lunch and don't work through there lunch. Pay and Benefits ok.

Was hired as temporary worker and gave do much production within my stay to get a chance to work permanently as told. Was only offered an extension of contract instead of a permanent position. Now, they're posting a permanent position directly by themselves ???... Wtf! 
Emails come after office hours and weekends that needed to be answered mostly.  No independence, all should be sought for Management advice even for tiny issues.
When a colleague is on leave, you will oversee 2 or 3 more buildings aside from your own. 


This organization often demonstrates a tendency among its management to excessively delegate tasks to lower-level employees, while concurrently displaying an apprehension or inability to adapt to contemporary technology. (We are in the modern times!) Recruitment strategy appears to undervalue the importance of hiring staff with fundamental office skills, resulting in the delegation of menial tasks to their immediate subordinates. 


The company currently lacks a structured career development plan for employees seeking opportunities for upward mobility within the organization. 

Firstly, the shifts are 9 hours due to an hour unpaid lunch. The pay will sound good but some of the supervisors there are truly Terryble. They will end up trying to micromanage you to death or quitting or you'll end up being fired one morning without cause, warning or single complaint. We have lost more than a few guys over the past few months due to this Terryble management and disorganized sites that need a lot of work or a Supervisor that knows what the job is.

Pure toxicity. No real direction. Mamagment is only worried about their bonuses. They could care less about the rest of the team or daily operations. No sense of belonging or team culture. In fact, it is a clique like place to work, which you will never be allowed to be a part of. They just dojtlet you in. Inexperienced team leading the way. Problems start at the top and trickle down to regular workers who are then tasked and expected to run the daily operations, with little to no support. Very frustrating to work here. Apply and approach with caution. 

Poor cooperation between departments and bad senior management make it a toxic environment. Pressure packed climate with little or no support. You are pretty much left to your own but mistakes are not tolerated. Culture of favoritism. High turnover and many new employees quit or were fired in their first 6-9 months.  Many employees currently on burnout! 

There are far better companies to work for where you can learn and grow. Do not get seduced by the nice office.

Security companies are basically the same where ever you go. It all depends on management at the time and the last 2 years have been with decent management. Garda does provide a lot of extra on line courses and on site courses that vary from free to your own expense. The Health and Safety program seems to be a lot better than other security companies I've seen. It really depends on the client you end up working with and my client is FABULOUS!

- Big turnover (20 people left in 1 year including 2 HR Directors) 
- A lot of gossiping (Fake rumours about the current and the ex employees) 
- Favouritism (An employee does not have to be good at his job to be a favourite, as long as he is good at pretending because someone can give his 1000% and work overtime and still not be a favourite) 
- Emails evenings and weekends
- They might give you the wrong instructions and blame you for the result.
