Working as a breakfast cook at Allô Mon Coco has been a rewarding and fast-paced experience that helped me develop strong culinary and teamwork skills. In this role, I prepared a variety of breakfast dishes, including eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and other menu items while ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. I learned to work efficiently under pressure during busy morning rushes, managing multiple orders at once while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Collaboration with servers, kitchen staff, and management was essential to providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. The experience strengthened my time-management abilities, attention to detail, and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. I also gained valuable knowledge of kitchen procedures, inventory management, sanitation practices, and equipment operation. Working at Allô Mon Coco allowed me to build confidence in my cooking abilities while contributing to a positive dining experience for guests every day and consistently.

Imma just dissect this in multiple parts to just express my frustration 

- Management does not care about its employees. A job that requires multiple people, is only done by 1, which causes a lot of delays. We just get blamed and told that we aren't managing our time well.

- No benefits. We can't even use our discount outside of work, and have to pay cash only. Apparently we have some type of employee insurance but we don't even get it. 

- We are overworked. Too many tasks for one  type of worker

- Favoritism. If the boss likes you and your attitude, you'll get more hours, if not, gl getting more than 5-12hrs a week. 

- High expectations by management. 

I'd like to mention that  this treatment has lead to 7 employees quitting in 7 months. Many of us quit after 6 months of working there because we simply cannot with the mistreatment given to us by management. 

I worked for them for years. Stayed because of most employees.  The manager is horrible. Makes you think he cares at first, but screams at you infront of clients and teammates. Condescending. Makes you feel low. Plays favorites.  Has made many employees cry and quit. Not a team player. They dont care if you have a family to take care of. If you have a child and they are sick or an emergency happens, be prepared to feel stressed about losing your job, or him telling you off because, even if YOUR sick, you have to work which means getting clients and others sick. The plus side, is you finish at 3, max 4, unless your working weekends. You can sometimes stay until 5. For a breakfast restaurant!

a typical day at work would start at 730am and end at around 330pm. there were no breaks but the days passed fast because it was always busy. you gain a lot of experience working at this restaurant because you come into contact with different customers and problems and figure out how to deal with any situation. the hardest part of the day is not eating and needing to remain patient when customers are rude or pull drama scenes. the most enjoyable part of the day is finally getting to eat and the regular customers who always treat you with respect. the co-workers are all very close and happy which makes the day go by faster and the day is more enjoyable

Best part is if you know the job pay is good and you always learn something new

If you know what are you doing there is no stress

There is multi cultural people working for the company as work Environment depend sometimes things can get worse but everyone should learn how to manage the situation

When you are at job there is no typical day that’s my opinion

the efficiency of the workplace was a sight to see.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The cleaning of the kitchen the back, and the whole interior.

very fast paced, and very pleasant 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get there before 9, clock in at  9, cut fruits, clean after customers.

Especially in the kitchen, the work is busy, on the weekend you need to work from 9 am to 2 PM, in the middle of the non-stop work, not even a minute to drink water time, very busy. You need to do the work of two people at the same time, which is crazy, and the management attitude is very poor and does not respect other people.
Plus lunch is late and not on time. It's easy to put your hurt in your stomach

This was one of the first place where I worked and enjoyed it.  It was a place where I would go to work energetic. This was happening because I worked with friends not just workers. We had good times and parties 🥳 there. I had to move out of the city that's why I left the job. I'll definitely go back to work there. 

This place is a mess. Management is all over the place and on power trips half the time. The back room stinks, there are bugs, the interac machines don’t have tip percentages, and it’s either a sauna in the summer or an icebox in the winter. 

It feels like a forced work environment, there is no culture of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, coworkers do their job to do it, they don't care how it is done, in the end the customer is the one who is harmed
