The company itself is an average place to work the Calgary staff are decent to work for and with they are not as educated as they possibly should be but they treat their people decent. 

The management at the sites are not professional, this component works on a who you know not what you know policy. There is easy to much favoritism and the professionalism is dealt far below industry standards. People are tested unfairly if they are of a minority group. There is bullying and racism allowed and even promoted throughout the staff that work at the facilities.

Lack of training and growth, they had the hiring in the ideology of who you know so you end up working with a lot of uneducated p which in turn makes it for a very unssfe place to work. 

There have been a number of incidents that have happened that were never reported or dealt with proper due to the management protecting their who you know staff.

Don't recommend one apply or work for the outfit as they will not stay long

The management is absolutely horrible, worst area foreman I have ever encountered. supervisors and leads are not helpful nor do they provide any training. They encourage belittling and discrimination of their employees and the HR department is no help when it comes to any employee trying to make a change or encourage growth and advancement of the overall company and its practices. The morals and ethics this company stands by it shameful and pretty much non existent. It’s a who knows who kind of job rather then training and experience based. 
I strongly discourage anyone from applying or working here especially the Townsend facility. So disorganized, unaware and the  lack of training and knowledge is absolutely awful. This company should be ashamed of the way the conduct business.

I worked at AltaGas and it is a toxic place. There was a lot of promises made during the hiring process that were not followed through with. I am happy with some of the operations staff but the harrassment and belittling of un-educated employees seems to be consistent across all area. No support from Management or team leads, no communication, no training and they push safety but dont follow up with anything. I would avoid this place if you can, there are many other good companies that treat their people with respect and take care of them. Your just wasting your time if you think it will be different. Ps if you make some arrangements in the hire process get them in writing, dont take anyone's word for anything.

Poor management due to politics. They don't hire IT-staff, directly but via third-party contracting only. Team leads do open harassment and bullying. No job security at any stage. Highly stressful and unhealthy nonfriendly work environment. No proper IT training documentation or manual. Most IT processes are out of date or obsolete due to which you have to heavily rely on senior staff or leads who harass or get frustrated or are busy.

Positives include a lot of responsibility with little experience, which leads to great learning experiences. 

Low job satisfaction, continued low morale throughout the office, inexperienced and poor management team (not to mention constant unprofessional situations between upper management and employees). 

Highlights include a lot of extra company days off and office celebrations, but it is essentially a company to be used as a stepping stone to more rewarding opportunities.

A typical day at work starts at 830am-530pm.

I learned various risk management procedures, risk documentation, and risk management theory.

Management was very friendly and understanding. They also gave adequate time to complete every task.

The most difficult aspect of the job was the time zone difference. I worked with people in Ontario while working at the Calgary office.

disorganized, expect way more out of you than they are willing to pay for. Poor leadership

Different team are different, lots of turn over in my area, poor leadership

The productive and high face but awesome work environment. Awesome company and people. Always be willing to participate to accomplish day to day work, mission and vision, Success is the combination of leadership management  and support by employees and contractors. 

When I first started there it was a great palce to work, then in the last 2 years of working there there was a management change and they put profit before peopl, this was when they stopped listening to very skilled people and started to listen to vendors that on the surface offered a lower cost solution that was not better in anyway.

Lots of promises made that weren't kept. Zero safety culture. Compensation was okay once they got it right but not worth the isolation in a below average camp. Okay to do if your options are limited but you will probably continue to look for something better. Watch your back!
