What is the best part of working at the company?

Meeting deadlines within a short open window, but with organization & effort by all shift members it can be achieved.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall the work environment & culture is positive with everyone contributing to complete tasks in a timely fashion. From time to time as a result of absenteeism it can result in your workday to be extra challenging 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overall the typical day can be busy with several task to be completed on any given shift.

Your day kicks off with the temperature screening. After that you meetup with your supervisor who assigns you the line that you will be running for the day. You fill out a line inspection paper work at the start of the shift. Talk with the process technician from the previous shift regarding the line performance. You do some quality tests every hour and make sure that the line is running ok. 

Its a thermoforming plant where they make cups and lids from PP and PET materials. Once you learn how to operate the machines, it gets a bit easy and monotonous. Not a lot of room for growth.

Production floor requires people with a sense of urgency but not all the time. When the thermo-forming lines work well the crews can work at their own pace. When the thermo-forming line(s) are down the pace is hectic.
Management is poor when it comes to maintenance. Preventative maintenance is not understood by the owner or upper management.
Communications are infrequent and at times contradictory. Motivation is the individual's responsibility. 
ISO-9000 and SQF registrations are viewed as a gimmick rather than a cultural mind-set.
Re-numeration is base salary plus profit-share. The profit-share process is not disclosed and has been largely absent because the owner needed the money for an acquisition he made in 2017.

I really enjoyed my work in the Amhil Enterprises and Brick Warehouse. I have learned many things after working in these places such as working with a team and working in a fast paced work environment. In the Amhil Enterprises, I worked in the packaging area where I was responsible for the packaging of the plastic cups but the environment there was depressing and suffocating as there were plastic furnaces in the area. On the other hand working environment and organisation in the Brick warehouse was extremely nice but the job required heavy lifting.

At Amhil, as a Process Technician, only 20% of the time you work as a technician (starting and stabilizing line) rest all your shift you are doing general labour (packing on line, sweeping, changing gaylords, material handing etc).
Not enough people are provided to relieve you fr break. Neither you get extra help when needed when your line is unstable.
Non cooperative supervisors.

A typical shift at Amhil starts with exchanging important information about what happened in the previous shift and starting up the machines accordingly. all the employees are friendly and professional. I learnt a lot about managing time and how to complete work orders before deadlines. the hardest part was the heat waves during the summer. as it is a thermoforming plant, the temperatures get really hot and it gets harder to work. the most enjoyable part of the job was troubleshooting the machines.

I worked here for few years and gained sufficient amount of knowledge about the mechanical systems.
Pay is really good.
Management is also supportive.
The only negative thing is that the talented people do not get their proper due. Skill utilization is one area where company really need to work.
In summers, heat is always above 40 degrees

Probably the best job I had. But Covid happened.
The ppl were great. You get used to who’s around and u really would work together. 
Days or nights would go by fast be it loading or unloading a truck or picking.
Containers sucked but supervisors were great with breaks when u did it. 
Covid was the worse thing to happen to the company.
I myself like continental shifts and nights. Guess it’s a pro to some but a con to others 

For a food grade plant it is a very dirty job.Very poor training. Different temporary workers as your packer almost weekly. Good luck getting your breaks. English is the second or third language spoken there.

Poor management, cheat workers of income  And benefits at every chance they get, e.g. If you are 5 mins late on a return day after stat holiday you lost your stat pay employee treated very disrespectful, bad work schedule, very very hot work environment, very dusty, and very old packaging machines, lots of unnecessary physical labor for such a large company
