The information and skills that you get working here are great but unfortunately the environment working on the shop floor is terrible. The night shift targets other employees, especially new employees on their shift and often these people will quit or get fired.

It can take months to be trained properly on the night shift and you will get in trouble if you make a mistake even though you have never been trained to do the work.

It's really unfortunate because the other people who are on the day/afternoon shift are really great to work with.

It doesn't matter how often this is reported, if you tell your supervisor or upper management anything, they will just sweep it under the rug. The worst is when you report it, they might tell the night shift what you said, and then you are just bullied more.

I wouldn't recommend anyone apply to the Cambridge location, but maybe some of the other plants would be worth it. If you are applying make sure that it's NOT FOR THE NIGHT SHIFT!

Most department leaders were excellent to work for. Some took their power and used it to try and belittle new or young employees. Overall shop structure was a great learning environment for large scaled machining techniques. Great tooling is available at all times, there is no “ begging for an endmill “ from the purchaser at this facility. Great place to work if you want to put in 20 years and make a career out of the place. Pay at the time was competitive but not the best, the other downfall is that the lazy incompetent operators make the same amount of money as the talented hard workers. Every department employee is paid the same, regardless of working results. 

By far the best company I have worked for, they encourage you to grow with in the company and will supply you with the tools and support to do so.
Has a great team environment, employees are friendly and helpful to one another, more so then anywhere else I have worked.
Management takes the extra step to build up the company morale through the social committe, (bbq, prizes, golf tournament) quarterly bonuses based on overall shop performance.
Safety is taken seriously at this location not just talked about, they are quick to take corrective action after occurrence and are always looking for preventive measures.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not too much.  I would not recommend working here

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
 Upper Management.  Treated like you are disposable.  Heartless.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible work environment.  Unbelievable amount of turnover.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Don't work here.  They will hire you for 89 days and throw you away

No proper training on equipment and certifications not finished as they don't have time yet you are moving a 10000 pound piece of steel. 
Management rude and talks to you like you are wasting their time when you express concerns. If you question anything or suggest anything you may feel can make things better like they say they want you to do they fire you 

Currently doing the same work for a different company, paid the exact same rate to do half the work. When working at anchor danly there was a lack of communication from management as well as a massive amount of responsibilities on top of just the main job, in reality the employees who are flame cutters are severely undervalued and underpaid. 

Constantly belittled by shift supervisor who is one of the head supervisors brother so he has immunity and knows it.

President of Company wants to make money more than keeping employees safe during the COVID-19 so they somehow claimed we make medical equipment when we do not in any form help medical practices.

They will find ways to fire you if you speak out against bosses demands

Head off HR will not do anything if you complain about a manager or supervisor.

I had a great experience working at Anchor Danly Cambridge. Peoples  attitude is very friendly except for some odd ones, easy to get along with and very helpful to each other. Management, Supervisors and Human Resources communicate well with staff. 
Parts are large and one offs. You have to bring your "A" game everyday or it will be a stressful day if you don't pay attention to details. Pay is at par with other hingh end machine shop.

Management only cares about management.
Too many meetings how to be a better company but nothing changes.
Low wages.
Two faced people. Talk behind your back.
Different rules for different people.
Nice to have time off at Christmas but don’t get Family Day.
Managers make up their own hours.
Reviews are every three months but no wage increases 
Wage increases yearly but minimal
Lots of employee functions




There have been significant lay offs and early retires in the last couple of months. Management has implemented a two machine policy where staff are expected to run their machine plus one other machine if necessary but for only a few dollars added to your pay and for a lot of added stress. Work is very slow due to tarrifs and it appears that the company may be looking to sell. I would recommend looking elsewhere for employment.
