I got to start the day by engaging students on the playground which would help to prevent negative behaviours as well as include all students no matter what their level of social skill.  Assist in learning by providing direct support, often done within the classroom to prevent the student from feeling rejected due to their behaviours.  It is difficult to hear of the unhealthy home lives for many of the students.

My day starts off getting up at 5:30 am , conducting my pre trip of bus and filling out of log book. Starting my run at 6:35 am  picking up of students and taking then to school. I drive boith elementary and high school kids. 
picking them up and taking them home.

I enjoy this job as it allows me to be home threw the day. my co workers are great and have a few good friendships.

hardest part of the day would be the noise level.

the most enjoyable is even when i have to enforce the rules they sitll say they like me as their bus driver and are plesant. little gifts of appreciation are lovley.

You work with special needs children for 5.5 hours a day,helping them with social and academic skills. Opportunity to work as part of a team with other professionals to enable children to be more independant. There is very much a team approach to this position. The hardest part of the job is when you work with children that are non compliant but you have great support from the other staff to help you through that. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you see childen suceed.

I have truely enjoyed working with children who have special needs. It is a wonderful feeling to help students to accomplish their skills to the best of their ability. The teachers have always been very appreciative with the work and help I have given them. Having special needs children in the classroom can be very challenging at times but also very rewarding. I would really like to return to work with the anglophone west school district if I could and will probably reapply. 

If you want to work in an atmosphere where there are back stabs and you constantly have to watch every thing you do and say then this is the spot for you.  You better take chap stick for all the kissing up you are expecting to do. if someone decides that they do not like you, your reputation and ability to work there will be destroyed.  HR likes the power they have to control you and will take every advantage to do so.  Casual employees are used as punching bags. I would stay far away.

A work day start at 8am and finish at 3pm, off evening, weekends, holidays and summer.  Working with children we learn everyday no matter what.  The hardest part of my job as a supply EA is going to different school all the time and on different schedule all the time.  the part that I enjoy the best is I can be there for my family.

As a supply teacher, I taught core subjects to K-5 children. I was also required to mark lessons and fulfill duties. 

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new children, however found it difficult as I was not able to develop relationships with the classes that I only seen periodically.

I really enjoyed working with the children. But to become permanent is really challenging.  No pension or benefits and paid under the regular rate the permanent staff are paid for doing the same work. Just seemed like I was stuck in a cycle.

I work for AWSD for 5 years. Foreman and HR are often working against you since we're custodian and not teachers/principals. Know your place and you'll do well. I find it quite toxic to work for them but the pay and benefits are good. 

Overall it was a good experience. The work isn't too hard, although stressful sometimes. For the most part it's organized.  I regret leaving, 14 hour shifts at my current job make me regret complaining about 7-8 hour shifts there.
