Apex used to be a great company with lots of chances for growth and career advancement. Since the original president retired, the management took a sour turn. Room for advancements are no longer made possible unless you are apart of the old boys club. Not much for confidentiality, lots of empty and broken promises. If you are a yes man, you'll do fine until management senses you are a threat to their position.  Staff are under paid in terms of competitiors and bonuses are held over your head from the hiring process to intrigue you. Bonuses are not distributed fairly and evaluations are useless as it's broken promises. The bullying is terrible within the nisku branch and management gets right involved in an unprofessional manner. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working here is your employees everyone for the most part gets along. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is the poor management, failure at communication, and plenty of false promises when it comes it raises/help. You will have to complete tasks the are pretty much supposed to be done the day before you're let known about them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone gets along besides management side. There is a singular good manager at the company. The shop floor has loads of jokes and good times. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is working on valves and completing projects while setting up other tasks.

The management would come back and scream at you! They thought they knew what they were talking about when coming to the back. I would never work there again. They would move new guys up and keep the guy who have been there for a year at the same position. They would tell you if you come in on weekend it would be overtime but after you worked the weekend thinking you were getting paid overtime, you would go and ask if they were paying overtime and they would say I never said that to you. They are a bunch of crooks

A typical day at work was entertaining and fast paced usually. Always learning the new parts that were ordered, the many names they were known by, the sizes, how they were put together. Hardest part of the job was remembering what parts needed to be billed with what parts when the sales people did not write them all down. The most enjoyable part of the job was the entertaining co-workers and customers that would be in and around all day long.

Was with the company for 8 years, took a few transfers doing so and  met some good people along the way. Transferred to the valve side and had emailed the manager and area manager regarding my role as it seemed to switch everyday there. I was fine with that but after I moved to a knew city it was brought to my attention I needed to be near my phone 24/7.. no joke. I asked for a solution and was let go the next day. Horrible management

Really lax management if you're into that sort of set up

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No help from management, coworkers destroyed personal property of mine, none of their workers except for like 1 know what they're doing

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible, they hire low work ethic individuals and sit around wondering why stuffs not done

I worked for Apex Distribution for 8 years, took a transfer to Leduc on the valve side and was let go after 3 months because I was told I would be doing other work and was miss lead. I asked for a fair solution and it wasn't even discussed, let go like that!

One of the worst place I’ve ever worked at. Very stressful and chaotic environment.
The lead hand/supervisor in the Nisku branch is extremely biased and basically wants everyone to be a suck up to him. 

Good atmosphere and family orientated company. Willing to offer training and advancement. 

Friendly and inviting staff and always willing to work with you on scheduling.

If you do not fit in the team, not related to the work but office politics, you are fired. You can work hard as much as you want, if you are not a part of the office gossiping you will loose the job.
