I worked at Aquarius for 6 months and my reason for leaving the company was because I had been accepted to Law School and had commenced studies.  Since my resignation, the owner has reached out to me several times to see how my studies are going and checking in on a personal level.  This says a lot about the type of person he is and that is the type of person that I think most of us want their "boss" to be.  I am writing this review today out of the respect I have for this company and to recommend it to anyone looking to get into Law Enforcement in the future.  It is an excellent resume builder for Criminology or Police Foundations students and graduates.  

Although I had a lot of Security experience prior to Aquarius, this was my first time working in Loss Prevention specifically, and the company was very patient with me as I took some time to learn the concepts and procedures.  Once I had a good grasp on the job, my performance increased dramatically and the days became more enjoyable and action filled.  It is easy to get in a "zone" on this job and time seems to fly by.
The starting wage at Aquarius is around average for Security jobs, however, I believe there is a lot more room for advancement here than at most other Security companies.

This company keeps great communication and is very personal with their employees. On my first day on the job at Aquarius, I got the privilege to work alongside one of the managers of the company which I thought was a unique opportunity.  Not only did I learn so much from a highly experienced Loss Prevention Investigator, but I was given the opportunity to get to know the manager on a personal level on my first day.  He spoke to me like a friend as opposed to someone under him.  Just a few weeks later I got to meet the owner of Aquarius at a Theft Protocol Training course that we were compensated to attend.  He was also very down to earth and this is when I realized that there is most definitely an opportunity for advancement in this company.  In addition, I really liked how much independence the management staff granted their employees.  As long as you maintain reasonable responsibility and duty then you are given the freedom to work under minimal supervision.  They are also very accommodating to your schedule - I found that communication and trust are very highly valued skills to the Management of Aquarius. Stay in communication with your supervisors/managers via calls and text, show up on time, take reasonable break times, and be on good terms with the store manager at the location you are working at.

I applied for the job and was shortly interviewed and hired with the company. Did a week's worth of training and onboarding submitting documents waiting for them to be accepted to start working. Booked my first week of shifts and came up with a really bad fever, gave them notice and explanation as to why it wouldn't be safe to go to work. My absence were accepted and I was given time off. The same day my shift was cancelled I was locked out of the app to do my job and recieved a email saying my probationary period was terminated and I was no longer needed. When I contacted them I was given the same answer of "your probationary period has been terminated were sorry" not any explanation of what I did and was given the news in a rude and non caring tone. Overall this whole process was a waste of a week I could have used for studies and overall very stressful. The lack of communication and openness is horrendous. I hope this review helps future applicants and the company 

The people were rude and useless when it came to instruction or learning the job, the job was brutal with people threatening to hurt you with nobody to advise you on how to address any concerns, after about less than a month I was fired without warning or reason with the only statement that “due to being on probation I had not needed a reason, it’s clear they only hire people to get the work out of them then fire them before they can join the union, disgusting people practice and overall terrible company

Aquarius is a great company to work for because it that gives opportunity to show yourself when other bigger companies may not. The management is great and always responds to any concerns employees have. The pay is fair and the scheduling is very convenient. The two days of training may have not been enough at first, but as soon as you start working by yourself you learn a lot, and the management team is always there to answer your calls if you are confused or lost in what you're doing. Overall a good company to start a fresh start at and continue to grow within the field.

Not worth the $18 an hour when your days go by like 12 hour days despite them only being 8. Wandering around a store playing shopper what a joke. The potentiality to be knocked out from some random crackhead with a weapon while you're on your own in a hoodie and jeans 
May as well work as a cashier or shelf stocker when you make a lousy $8 more than them. 
Unpaid lunch so your day is 30 mins longer than it needs to be, constant switching of scheduling due to people not showing up 

I was having a hard time making arrest despite the two training days, did a few shifts on my own and still was having a difficult time. Management (CEO) approached me and instead of criticizing me asked me what he could do to help - he provided me additional training and continues to check-in on me ensuring I am successful and effective in my job.
He recognizes when you are hardworking and provides the support needed. Once you're committed and professional, management and clients recognized your effort.

This security company is extremely unprofessional, there were times where I would be taking a lunch break and the manager would come just to observe me and complain if I was even 5 minutes late. They don't really give you proper training with how to handle dangerous situations such as if while you make an arrest, how to deal with someone attacking You. I was sick one shift and left work early and they fired me on the spot... so UNPROFESSIONAL!

I was a Loss Prevention Guard at Niagara Region. I really appreciate the guidance and work provided by the team they have. It has easy to go over schedule and always happy to help you while on job. Would definitely recommend the company. The most enjoyable part of the job was you got the all support you needed in critical situation from the team.

Fantastic work, great management. Work life and home life balance is great. Pay is great. If you need time off they can accommodate. In a whole it a great company to work for. I've been a guard for just over 6 years and this is one of the best companies I have had the privilege of working for.
