After joining Aquilini, I've realized that the group of companies operating under the Aquilini Group is very diverse which has continued to allow me to obtain career development opportunities and gain insights into a wide variety of industries, from real estate development to restaurants to agriculture to property management to hockey/arena etc etc.  As a professional in the accounting field, I can appreciate that there are few companies that offer extensive exposures to all these different industries at the same time.  I am constantly being challenged in new areas and asked to problem solve, which is what excites me since accounting can be repetitive at its core.  

With a company of such magnitude, I also enjoy working alongside and learning from other finance & accounting teammates within the organization (there are many controllers, directors and VPs within the group, each have a specific area they oversee).

The culture and office space can be improved upon, but I do see continued progress in the right direction.


There are some top notch people working at Aquilini Group.  VPs are easy going and approachable - they help navigate and be successful in your job purpose.  Ownership is more formal and limited interaction with staff.  Lots of business activity and see company's appetite to improve as an employer.

PROS: people, job scope, free downtown parking, growth potential with other business divisions 

CONS: Suspension of concerts, hockey games, events,  gym, and other perks due to COVID-19, business formal dress code

The pay is unfortunately low, primarily because it's an event-based job with highly irregular hours. When events are in full swing, they often expect you to work several days in a row. However, during slower periods, securing full-time hours becomes uncertain, which can create a sense of instability. Despite these challenges, I remain committed and adaptable to the varying demands of the job

Terrible people to work for - they don’t care about their staff. The bottom line is money and you are completely dispensable. Morale is low, the office space is a joke, the men are misogynistic pigs.

I have been with the company for over five years, and it has been a rewarding experience. The management team genuinely cares about the properties and the staff. There is a strong sense of job security and a professional atmosphere that makes coming to work enjoyable.

You can get some hockey tickets and left over food from meetings. You will definitely work overtime hours. Its hard if you are salaried employee. There is a lot of turnover with employees. If you talk to past employees, they will give you a idea of the culture.

Awful company does not care about staff only money.Awful company does not care about staff only money. This is all they care about days at work are yelling and un organized scattered. Workplace is dirty should not pass health inspection. Terrible place to work

Make sure you have the terms or what you will be doing down and on paper and then tear it up as it won’t be what you end up doing! Management promise one thing and deliver another

won't fix broken camera's,old/aged electrical,leaking roof,bad heat loop lines ready to fail,place is a joke!
bad organization in general   low morale

The company is great for students to learn accounting but be prepared to be overworked. Staff is very overworked and the management team pays staff very poorly. I only recommend for experience. No growth at this company.
