Argus is a great place for a career. I worked there only four years but in that short time I went from the lowest possible position and was working my way up. This place notices hard work and rewards it. I was planning on becoming a machinist eventually but the recent oil prices meant that cut backs needed to be made so, they had to carry on without me. Despite that, this is one of the best places I have worked if not THE best. They treat their employees like family, they host a lot of events for the workers to take part in such as summer barbeques, and by far, the best Christmas parties I've ever been to. Highly recommended. Once the oil and gas prices stabilize, of course.

The maintenance crew at Argus are a top notch group of individuals. I was given the freedom to approach and execute projects based on my experience and abilities. That in itself was very satisfying. 
Although placed squarely in a sector of the oil patch that limits the companies growth potential, they were very forward thinking in implementing newer technologies. Being a part of that is what made the job easy to take. 
It's unfortunate that the recent downturn in the economy led to a greater number of people being laid off. I was at or near the end of the cuts.

Many employees pretty easy going. The work is quite fast paced and you need to be on top of your game. Unfortunately the management is another story. They offered you a salary that is very low to start, even when you had previous experience and you are used and abused. Also you are required to do shift work which is something I can’t do anymore. They have a social club where you have company bbq’s and a lunch truck that does come around for those who want to buy something than packing your own lunch. 

review daily route documents.prepare for daily job requiements.I have learned too have more patients within oneself and co workers.Communicate more with management with on the job reguirements.Work more as a team rather than as an individual.There are times when production speeds  are difficult to obtain while still learning the machinging process.The most enjoyable aspect is taking the knowledge learned on the job and applying the task at hand and being succesfull and working in a team effort.

Actual hard work means nothing there, only thing that seems to matter is appeasing the supervisors with their out of work curiosity about your personal life. Couple good things are the get together events, and the mostly no rush environment. The other co workers are amazing aswell. This company is huge on saying they care, but when comes down to it, its just words without meaning. If you can buddy up with supervisor your golden, otherwise watch your back.

** I did not receive pay while I was employed**.   A good, busy place to work at.  However I did not quite have the work experience to be considered for employment.  It has mainly the closest ties with the oilfield and oilfield equipment and as such has suffered drawbacks and layoffs when the price of oil dropped.

Company is stuck in its ways (oil and gas related) and doesn't want to diversify.  The compensation is not good, barely any chance of a bonus. Career advancement is non existent.  Coworkers are the highlight, everyone seems to have a good work ethic although the company does not show any appreciation for it.

Argus is a medium sized, privately owned, manufacturing company which offers a great atmosphere to work. People are professional and friendly and lay great emphasis to grow as a Argus Family. The company is very motivated to put best practices in place to ensure a good quality product. Again it is a pleasure to work at Argus.

great people who work their i mean on the shop floors the management staff have no clue whats goin on nor the qc supervisor worked their for over 10 years new supervisor came along and decided to lay people off to show management that he can do it then hire other staff with no knowledge to pay them less

Used to enjoy work, people, and pay.  Now is push, toxic culture, and no pay increase.  Old timers think they can get away with rule changes.  Some people disrespect their own boss and step past them to see other management.
