Armour has been a great place to work. They’re always willing to try new things to make things better or easier for their team. Whenever I have an idea or suggestion, management is happy to hear me out and find a way to incorporate things. 

They have done a great job of making me feel appreciated. When I first started, I got a very thoughtful welcome basket. On my birthday they sent me a $50 gift card. The company retreat to Kananaskis was an absolute blast. I’ve had the chance to take an extra paid day off to do volunteer work. I’ve won extra days off in their day-off raffle. I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting, but they do go out of their way to make you feel appreciated for the work you do. 

I’ve been impressed by the work-life balance. They actively want people to take vacation time and use their wellness time whenever they need it. If you’re under the weather or not feeling well, they aren’t the kind of company to ask you to push through. They just want you to focus on getting better. 

They are growth-minded, in both a business and personal sense. They work hard to grow the company, bring in more people, and sell more policies. They also really prioritize personal growth. They’re happy to pay for classes and licences if it benefits your career. They’ve got an extensive library of self-improvement books available to the team. They also pay for half of your gym membership, rec center membership, or fitness classes. I’ve found it to be a place where they want you to feel well in mind and body. The snacks are pretty great too. 

I worked at Armour Insurance since 2009 and only left to explore a new career path. Leaving this amazing company was difficult.  During my time with Armour, I grew immensely personally and professionally through ongoing coaching and mentorship. The leadership here is second to none when it comes to continuing education, coaching, support, and accountability. The employees are Armour are held to a high standard as the company strives to provide excellent customer satisfaction. Company goals and standards were shared with all employees and the company did their best to ensure their employees were set for success. Policy and procedures were well documented and shared with everyone. Meetings were held weekly in all departments. These meetings were very structured and interactive and everyone had a voice. All levels of management from HR to Finance to Marketing, Commercial, Personal Lines and the Processing worked together to implement ways to make our work more effective and efficient. I don't know of another company out there as cohesive as Armour. The Culture Code HEART (Humble, Effective, Adaptable, Respectful and Transparent) was literally the heart of the company. I will miss my co-workers and this company immensely. 

I wish I read the reviews before accepting a job offer. Someone previous stated "Lack of support for frontline and support staff during difficult times" and I couldn't echo this statement even more. While working there an employee expressed her concern to management about seeing clients due to her pre existing conditions and the response she received was "You will be fine", showing a complete lack of empathy. If you are looking for sped up training, no guidance and no support then this is the place for you. The staff are overworked and forced to put a facade. If you are looking to grow in this career path don't let armour be your first choice, you're just a number to them and these are just some of the reasons they are constantly looking to hire.

Like another review said, they are always hiring cause they are always firing. 

They expect a certain level of performance without communicating what that looks like and will punish you when you don't deliver something you wernt aware of. 

Theres also very little growth opportunity. I was told I had to wait 6 months before I could pursue level 2, which is not true.

If you want a little bit of experience to then go elsewhere and have career growth, then you can and it's great for that. Don't expect management to have your back and don't expect to be rewarded or encouraged for doing more. 

Armour Insurance has a great corporate culture.   They look for staff who are humble, effective, adaptable, remarkable & transparent.

They are very transparent with all staff - everyone knows the goals and are working toward a common goal. 

They promote a fun, healthy work environment and believe in a work + life balance.

They use industry leading technology - Epic, Blue Butler, 3CX, etc.

They encourage learning and development.

Great benefits and generous time off.

The company culture took a turn for the worse in recent years. There is an overall culture of mistrust and micromanaging, coupled with nepotism which makes it difficult to stay invested. Lack of support for frontline and support staff during difficult times. People leave and are not replaced, so their work is redistributed to whoever is left but management continues to spend on things that matter to them.

I have worked with a few other brokerages but Armour is BY FAR the best place that I have worked!  I feel very rewarded from day to day. Their technology is outstanding. The support system that they have in place for us is great. I feel like I can flourish as a broker with Armour!

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. The pay is non-competitive with other brokerages. The workload is unmanageable especially when staff come and go so often. 

Lots of companies say they value work/life balance, Armour is one of the few that exhibit it.  Several people left employment here only to come back for the culture, including me.

High turn over of employees in recent years. Management expects 110% 100% of the time. The work load in unmanageable with very little support from management other that a few encouraging words “you can do it”.
