Artisano Bakery & Cafe

At Artisano bakery you are on your own and expected to be a "yes" man or girl (say yes to everything, be complacent etc...) At the location I worked at there was about 8-9 different general managers over a 3 year span, which speaks volumes. After many years of dedicated service and commitment I was told my wage would be reduced by a significant amount in order to cut costs. Constructively Dismissed and still owed termination pay. Good job for high school students but not a good career choice if you are looking to advance your culinary skills and professionalism, or simply make a living in a secure environment (for every 1 artisano there are 3 Paneras, might as well apply there).

All of the restaurants I've worked I felt like home. I've learned everyday something new. Working with people it's not easy there will always be a problem, and that's what I've learned mostly. To salve a problem or satisfying the costumer, making sure that there are no conflicts. I always gave my best to work with the co-workers for i am easy to make friends and communicate with them. The hardest part of my job was the slow days which made it boring and didn't have much for me to do, but wait on the costumers to walk in. It made my job enjoyable when different people would dine in, serving and communicating with people was the best part on my job.

Working at Artisano was a great experience. Although the work can become some what monotonous the staff, management and overall working environment was awesome. 
I was able to learn vital skills for working in a kitchen. Shift work depends largely on what times you work however, everything follows a schedule with individual and team oriented work to be done. The hardest part of the job is learning in a fast paced environment. The most enjoyable part of the job is making new foods for different orders and the warm and friendly atmosphere provided by the management and co-workers.

Typically the day goes by fairly well, it has assisted me with understanding how to maintain an appropriate hospitality setting as well as how approach customers and staff throughout various scenarios. My coworkers for the most part are easy to work with and I enjoy being able to work with them as a team. The hardest part of this job is receiving hours. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to learn and take on new responsibilities from shift to shift

The management was not the best. However, I learned to work around what they wanted me to do, etc. With this job, I learned to serve customers under stress and on a busy day. 
The hardest part of the job was working early hours like 7 am, and getting up that early. However, I got used to it after a while.
The most enjoyable part of the job was communicating with the customers and making the food.

I've learned to deal with both nice and hard people the better way, apply my values, respect others and interact with other people and I gain friends who are really good people. Although management, I say very hard and confusing especially when putting up schedules and the Manager/Owner has a very bad temper where he can really just yell and put up the blame on you in front of customers.

Working at Artisano was hard but fun, i couldnt predict what i was going to do before my shift because it was a fast paced working environment and anything could happen on the job. However working there was a bit discouraging  because they had too many people and i wanted to work 20-30 hours a week. I learned a lot of things working at Artisano but the most important thing was team work, the more you work as a team the better the job gets done.

My work environment is inside a freezer at -16 Celsius. and Warehouse environment.
I would have to package frozen products in boxes,
I found this is the hardest part of the job , because my feet and hands 
would get cold with the extra warm gear i brought to work.

It is  a good thing, this is a part time job.
Other duties deliver of products to other locations in GTA was the 
most enjoyably with a long box GMC van.

The owner only cares about the money, all the managers are always stressed about labour cost. Good luck if you want to get a raise because they will not give you one because the owner needs the money to buy fancy cars and to travel. What a great company!

This was first job and it wasn't bad for a first job. Doing dishwashing there was pretty bad at times because there was this old lady that is full time that always leaves lots of dishes for us when we show up in the evenings so that was annoying. A lot of grudges which was pretty immature.
