I worked in a non union position in the Engineering department, and the group I worked with are very professional, and collaborative as a team. You are expected to work with minimal supervision, and meet your specified deadlines.
Technical obstacles in your path, can be easily remedied by just asking the rest of the team for input, or throwing your own solutions out there for feed back.
I have never had a problem working with my colleagues on the shop floor who are unionized, they have always been great to work with, and given mutual respect, a great interactive, productive, work environment can be achieved.
If you like to be challenged technically, and are not afraid to work diligently for a solid 40 hour week, I highly recommend Asco Aerospace,

Nice environment with multicultural employees to work happily. No interference for my work from anyone but they are vigilant and monitoring every step to guide every one equally. I am so happy with the Management and the floor supervisor who is very friendly too. This place is an Unionized and has pros and cons.

Lots of opportunities to learn, supportive management. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Union environment so you will have your way if you have  seniority.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supporting staff,  management has reasonable expectations. Give enough time to get your Job done safely.

ASCO is a fantastic place to learn and grow as an engineer, and to truly experience what it's like to work in the "real" aerospace industry. ASCO houses the real deal and you'll get it there. I look back fondly at the opportunities I was given to advance my skills and make a difference as an engineer.

Management mid to upper has very weak structure, if any.
A very strong unionized environment with great employees whom have no faith in Management. It is surprising that they are able to maintain major customers like Boeing and LMC in the Aerospace Industry.

Each day is a very busy day in ASCO. People are approachable and friendly. They are on the stage of TPM culture improvement. There are no surprises working in ASCO, you have to be always ready.

Unfair and toxic working environment. Do not waste your time applying here. Not worth the time staying with, and you will not learn much here considering missing opportunities elsewhere. 

This place has great potential to be a decent place to work but the lies from management of wage increases, constant pressure and lack of family life balance make it a tough place to work.

For non-union workers it has flexible working hour, which helps balancing life-work time. Unionized employees don't have that, they work with  shifts.
