A typical day at work is fairly basic, it's just delivering furniture to customers.

I learned the proper procedures to secure workloads for long-distance travels.

There are generally two teams (I was deliveries) 
1). the warehouse prep team, who prepped furniture for deliveries

2). the delivery team, who would deliver furniture and make sure customers were satisfied.

I personally feel that management was/is lacking, it was hard to communicate any issues we or the customers were having to the management as well as the warehouse crew.

Any damages on furniture were blamed on drivers even though the drivers would only move the already prepped and wrapped furniture from the warehouse less than 20 feet onto the trucks and then off the trucks into customers homes.

One of the njoyable parts of the job was becoming friends with the other drivers and delivery teams because I felt they really cared about the customers' satisfaction as much as I did. 

The most enjoyable part was being able to connect with customers and almost getting to know them, making sure they were happy.

Overworked for a year and a half. Was promised a dollar raise at 3 months. Didnt get it. Wasnt told why. Got the 1$ after a year. Was terminated with zero justifiable cause. Was working in an unsafe workplace without proper safety equipment. The tether for the pick truck was short making my job completely unsafe. Took 4 weeks to get the right tether. Forklifts weren’t manufactured for the weight we were lifting with them. DiThey attempted to tell me i was fired because of a text message i had sent? Never got to see the contents of the message nor did i get to confirm it was even me who sent it. HR is an internal position which they contito change to avoid legal reaponsibility. Company legally cuts corners when the big wigs come in town and put their employees thru pointless stress and bs because they lack the knowledge to actually supervise and manage the warehouse.

Upper and lower management  keeps changing very frequent,

as for sales people commission structure keeps changing 3 times within the last 2 years, company policy is ASHLEY doesn't provide references.

as a sales person if you don't hit your target twice you're out of the door and with lots of sales people on the floor it's hard.

If they want to get rid of you no matter what your title is they'll present you a job offer for admin position so it's impossible to get EI.


sales people are required to do admin  and cleaning and wrapping work as well as they cut admin and warehouse staff hours following minimum wage increase.

No more free lunches, and any customer can walk in and get better than staff discount.

expect no work life balance.

Assisted with the pick-up (loading), transportation, and delivery (unloading and placement) of household goods in accordance with established procedures and protocols
Routinely involved lifting, movement and placement of heavy items by hand or with the assistance of handling equipment
Reported any potential hazards to the team leader while adhering to all company policies and safety rules
Represented Ashley Furniture in a professional manner at all times when interacting with clients
Worked with other team members to ensure customer needs were met and our contractual agreements were fulfilled


I would sweep and vacuum the entire store almost every week. Other days involved me doing things such as organizing files, displays, and charts. I was taught about the different types of products at the store during my time at Ashley Furniture and learned some things about customer service. The hardest part of the job would be giving advice to customers, as I did not know very much about furniture at the time. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed everything else. I loved talking with customers, meeting co-workers, learning about the furniture, and working my hardest every day for the benefit of the company.

It was easy work mainly just moving boxes and furniture around to places. I learned how to properly do inventory. The management was super good they where very helpful if help was needed. The co-workers for the most part where very friendly and helpful but there where a few that do not like new people. The hardest part of the job is moving the couches as most weigh over 300 pound. The most enjoyable part of the job is working along people that where very friendly

At Ashley Furniture there is a lot of down time so you use that to your advantage to learn more about the product. Learning how to interact with different types of customers and maintaining posture and patience. My management is great and is always keeping us positive,
The hardest part of my job is changing lookers into buyer and overcoming the objections. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing I made someone's home feel like home again.

Current management will do whatever it takes to get rid of you. Once you’re the full-timer, you can’t go anywhere else. It was an alright job, until management decided to decrease the hours the full-timer can work, along with cutting two other positions due to wanting to better their numbers.

Not organized. No respect for the workers nor do they take care of the workers they get mad when you take your lunch cause they didnt account for it in your times on your run. Wages arent what they should be. Always have to argue about the laws of a commercial vehicle. No movement for raises or promotions. Also dont have the proper equiment to properly do the job. The list can keep going

Lack proper training or assistance in getting the job done! Job profile was not even remotely accurate as to what was expected. Example; was not informed that as the Merchandising Manager I would be expected to paint the entire interior of the store, while completing my regular 40 hour work week.
