Repetitive tasks that are supposed to be rotated bit rarely are, managers constantly allow lazy workers to do easier tasks and pressure good employees to do the difficult ones again and again.

Pay is not worth the damage the repetitive tasks will cause to your body. Hours are cut short almost daily, then they want you to work a Saturday too, after sending you home early every day.

Toxic environment with a clique system of advancement instead of being based on merit or ability. 

The Union there doesn't care or do anything for the workers but take their dues. Health Benefits might as well be non exisistant, since you won't have enough money to pay for them upfront from working here. Constant infighting between managers and shifts and employees.

You will be doing all the work that CAMI and MAGNA won't pay their employees a decent wage to do.  If they could move it overseas they would, but it's a "just in time" operation so they can't. If there is a problem at any of the other companies that halts production, you'll be going home too, unpaid.

I have multiple Repetitive Strain Injuries to this day from Aslon, and they also close their doors and reopen all the time, usually at a lesser pay than before.  

Overall one of the poorest managed companies. 

Owner is an American that only cares about the bottom dollar.
Management isn't paid enough to be bothered. 
Union is powerless even if they cared about anything other than your dues.
Pay is too little for the job.


One of the worst places that I have ever worked managment is a joke wages are way too low for the work they expect you to do. Also some of the people who work there try to yell and belittle you i had 4 different experiences with employees. Yelling at me and treating me like  garbage there is absolutely no communication between departments the so called. Union Stuard is a complete joke started problems with a worker on my shift causing him to go to the day shift. And then he started with me one night thinking he could yell at me like he owns the place too many people ttying.

 To tell you what to do when in fact they have absolutely no athority to do so I also one night witnessed a Male employee. Yell and swear in an agressive manner causing her to walk out and go home out of fear the employee was given a one day suspension lol. And absolutely nothing else was done about it at all when you go to HR to report something they guy there is a complete joke he says. They have your back but in fact they do not care about their employees at all they will lie cheat them also you.never reach 40 hrs a week they work you below 40 hrs a week if you are thinking of working here you would have better treatment or luck at McDonald's  lol.....

-load/unload live loads for production and to customer in jit time sensitive manner. I have had to learn new programs on the computer and RF guns needed to track all product in and out of facility, and much of it on my own with some helpful co-workers. I find Management helpful and straight forward with employees, easy to talk to and open minded. With 3 other drivers, 2 run in production and other driver as floater, we help each other out when possible to keep production to run as smooth as possible. The hardest part of this job is if a single forklift goes down, no spare to be used, so we depend on constant forklift checks to determine if work should be accomplished asap to keep live loads moving. The most enjoyable part of this job is able to talk to truck drivers and listening to some of their experiences in their fields.

Typical work day has you setting up your station on the assembly line, then by after striving to hit product mark (448,516 seats ect).
I've learned to be fast on my feet as well as multitask different side jobs when i have finished building a frame fast enough to ensure that production line run smoothly and consent.
Hardest part of the job is to fall into your groove while working and obtain that level of speed.
Co-works are a great crew also helpful and easy to approach.

Worked here several years ago so some things may have changed. It is mostly assembly line work with some quality assurance, lift truck driver and warehousing type positions. It produces products for a major automotive company and is a third tier supplier. The pay is slightly more the minimum wage and the jobs are repetitive. I would recommend this place for short term work only. I would encourage any lone who gets a job here to leverage their work experience into something better.

Inconsistent hours, more often than not do not even reach 40 hours despite the fact that the company still advertises the position as a mandatory 6 day work week. Management and and company policies need an overhaul as they do not meet the same requirements as provincial law as far as days missed and documentation are concerned. Additionally, the maintenance of the equipment can only be matched by the treatment of their employees which is abysmal at best.

I have been working here for 10 years. Aslon has gone through many changes over the years including recent Management changes. A Supervisor that had cause many issues is no longer here and we recently had a change in Plant Manager as the previous one had retired. The jobs can been physically demanding but they are all easy to learn. Never a boring day as they rotate every hour.  

I worked at Aslon for about 5-6 Years,

The turn over rate is about 300%, 
Every single week they had new people start and every week people would quit.

They had new people (1-2Weeks) Training the newer people.

The supervisors yell, and alot of the time there was mandatory over time, Which you would be notified 1 Hour before it was announced. so an 8 hour shift on Saturday would be a 12 hour shift.

The pay is good and the people you work with can be awesome to talk to.

The way the management treats their employees leaves a lot to be desired. The man who works in HR is no where near qualified enough to be in this position. 

They let some of the laziest people continue to be team leaders, quality liaisons  and supervisors. 

Save your self the heartache and don’t bother

I have no complaints, I really enjoy my job and all the respect I receive here.  If I could stay here and retire, I probably would but financially, that is not possible.  I get along perfectly with all management and the owner, It would be sad to say good-bye but in the end, I'm looking out for my best interest.
