Working as a case picker is alright if you are just in it for the money for a summer student job or something. $21/h starting off, and guaranteed growth intervals the longer you work at the company, up to ~$28.50. My biggest issue is that the productivity system in place not only puts strain on you, but also causes your coworkers to occasionally act unsafe while picking orders. I have several gripes with the work environment, but this is the biggest one for sure. On top of this, the pallets you build can sometimes be up to 7 feet tall, with very heavy objects placed on top, sometimes 50+lbs. I believe that the layout of the warehouse is incredibly ineffective for the actual case pickers, and this is not the type of job that should have different aisles with similar products in them. Instead, i think that the warehouse should be organized in such a way that every pallet built has a sturdy base, and then builds up into the lighter, or more oddly shaped boxes or items. The worst feeling is when your last 30 items to pick on a 350+  case order are oddly shaped or way too heavy (which becomes a safety issue in itself). The breaks ARE paid, however the place to sign out for your break is a long walk to the lunch room, so after all is said and done, you essentially end up with two 15 minute long breaks. I would much rather have a longer, unpaid break, or have the option to sign into your break IN the lunch room. Management is okay, however they very obviously have the best interests of the company ahead of your own personal concerns. Overall not an incredible experience, with the only saving grace being the pay being slightly above average for most warehouse jobs.

To sum it up. Good people all stuck in a quasi sweat shop.
 They will train you on how to operate center rider double pallet trucks and show you how to stack and maximize a 7ft skid full of case goods. The place is huge!! The best thing is getting to speed around this monster place, talking to a computer like a fighter pilot through a headset. 
 There are 2 breaks between 20-30min every 3hrs, it can take 2-5min to get off the floor to the lockers or lunchroom (lunchroom is fantastic) and will take the same time to get back, supervisors will come down fast and hard on anyone who is late, unsafe, slow or causing them problems in anyway. Security is tight, it is not a job that you can just change and leave quickly at the end of shift (Day, afternoon, night), roughly 10min for everyone to pass through security. The work pace is breakneck, 2-5seconds to grab items and stack on your machine (you ARE being timed), items can be heavy, awkward and fragile. Management looks ONLY at the numbers, so the quota is set on the edge of possibility. If you don't hit quota (100% Productivity as they call it), don't take extra shifts/hrs, say no to anything requested = you are replaced. Job security is non existent as they run a revolving door policy, they have the next person waiting to take your place and will let you know it often. 
  
 Best job - Forklift driver .. Worst job - Case Picker.
Either by their power or by your power, don't expect to stay long.

If you're interested in applying here, don't expect it to be easy money. They'll work you HARD if you have any desire to pursue the permanant position - with benefits - after 6 months.

To give you an idea, they want you to reach 95% productivity for your first 3 months, after which they'll expect you to sweat out upwards of 100-105%, which is exhausting to keep up for 8 hours. 

I'll let you be the judge: say you get an order for 300 cases, about 140 cubic inches (that's two pallets stacked 6-7 ft. high). In order to reach 95% alone, this order shouldn't take you any longer than 1 hour. 100%+? You're looking at about 45 mins.

[My biggest piece of advice is keep a clear head when working; if you start thinking too much you'll lose momentum, and the job will become incredibly more difficult.]

The work is tough, exhausting, and monotonous, but it can be done. On the flip side, good days do happen if you know how to put your head down and get to work, and they'll show you great amounts of appreciation for it (plus bonuses) when you get called for your weekly performance reviews. This comes from my own experience. That being said, if you're slow and below average, don't expect to stay long - I've seen countless new guys come and go and I've only been here for 3 months.

One thing's for sure: if you want to learn what hard work is, you've come to the right place.

A fun environment a lot of room for improvement you can start as a casepicker and work your way all around the warehouse. Every job is up for grabs and full training provided you can even make it all the way up to operation manager and beyond if you have enough drive to make it. Casepick is difficult to master but it takes practice you have an expectation to increase weekly when you start which is totally do able. People get hired every week or so, so it's not impossible. One tip is not to listen to the negativity coming from some people because they don't understand the reasoning behind some decisions from management. Plenty of people have worked there since it opened and will continue there until they retire. Pay is great probably won't find better with out going to college and I would work at aspect be for any minimum wage job any day, some of them make you work much harder for a lot less pay. Big thing is to look at your future, plan it out working at aspect is worth it later on down the road when you are making top wage and in an area that you enjoy.

Because of the high turnover rate, I knew my chances of being employed were 92%. You just need to be able to read, do very basic maths, lift the weight they require, and be trainable.

The most you will learn is stacking techniques, which are nothing beneficial to actual career growth.

Management is only concerned with getting the work done. Case pickers will have to fight for their emotional and physical well-being.
for a case picker, a lot of the kpi's that are important aren't shown to you upfront. You have to go digging to see your metrics, so there seems to be a lot of secrecy on how they handle your kpi's. in discussion, management makes it seem simple, but when you are being practical, you realize there are a lot of gaps in what they say and what you see for your results at the end of the day.

The workplace culture is toxic in general, your hear a lot of complains but no solution, there is a lack of true transparency. the performance requirement is super high and inhuman to maintain for a full shift.



This job is the type of job you take when desperate. It didn't take long before I realized I was a number in their system. I felt like I was back in elementary school at this place for a couple of reasons; there are dozens of tiny rules and regulations and they handout "tickets" to people who don't follow them to the letter, being 1 minute late didn't fly here, lunch time was only 20 minutes  and I often found myself in the middle of meals by the time my break was ending. The training was short and sweet, but didn't prepare anyone for the ACTUAL work, instead they focused on mundane safety guidelines and barely spent anytime on the actual job. The management preaches productivity to no end, other than that you're on your own and they might send you home without pay. The only saving grace here was good salary, and my fellow coworkers were a helpful and amazing bunch! Thank y'all. Unfortunately lots of people get cut FASTER THAN YOU THINK.

-Fast paced, with okay room for growth and the starting pay is good.
-You get paid Incentive for passing productivity expectations per pay period
-You start in case pick working a split work week (mon and sat off or tue sat off, ect.) and because its a union job you have to wait for your seniority in the building to get high enough to get into a different position, regardless of skill.
-They mandate you a lot, you will be working 6 day weeks very often especially around holidays and the only stat holidays you actually have off are Christmas and Canada day. You do make good pay in overtime and double time on the stat holidays, so like I said, if you like spending time at work and making money its a great place to work.
-I wouldn't recommend it for family oriented people.
-Management isn't great. A few good ones here and there, but not enough.

Did casepick here briefly. Had one day of training where they taught us how to pick products, organize pallets and print shipping labels and drive the jack trucks. First day on the job, I got penalized for not getting my jack truck out of the parking area fast enough because I was going through the safety checks we were mandated to do. Additionally, the shift was 9 hours and we were only given 2x 15 minute breaks, and they mandated my days off, so I was working 6 days a week. They also don't like it when you take sick days and will give you the third degree for taking them. Overall very high employee turnover for the job I was doing. I don't recommend working here in hopes of having a long and rewarding career. It's alright if you want some short-term decent money, the incentives/rewards are alright though.

some good points: outside of receiving, any "on the floor" jobs are mostly solitary (casepick, shipping, repack, pallet build, order picking) which is good if that's something you want. breaks are paid, and since it's a 24hr location, shift times are very clear. 

through working here I've gotten a better understanding of balancing things for the big pallets, weather getting them ready, or getting them in the trailer. 

Management is... shift dependent, and if like me you're multiskilled (4 departments), it becomes hellish about knowing your tasks day to day. When you can talk with your co-workers, it'll be limited to mostly the work itself. 

Overall it is a pleasant place to work just keep in mind that the work can be tedious and repetitive and being in a warehouse can sometimes drive you a bit crazy. Also be aware that it is easy to get past the probation period (3 months) but if your productivity isn't up to par at the time, they wont hesitate to let you go but its not a difficult thing to do. Defiantly something to look into for someone with not much experience and a good starting position to something greater! The days go by decently fast and isn't overly physically demanding so your not left exhausted by the end of the day. Pay is reasonable and is fit for the type/amount of work done and they do have incentive programs so the harder you work, the more you earn!
