My jobs requirements are to answer the phones and take in account bets. I deal with customer service  and the security of their accounts and credit cards. What I learned is to be just as polite and friendly on the phone as if you were face to face with the customer. 
The upper management is great to work with. Approachable and eager to help me problem solvent  if needed no matter what time of day or night. 
The hardest part of my job is not being able to interact with customers for the most part to see if they are satisfied with the help we give them. 
This is my second job and to be honest it dosnt  feel that way. The environment in which I work is like a family of great friends. Going into work is like interacting with a great bunch of friends at a fun place to work!

The management there is horrible. They don't care about their employees and hire idiots to be in charge. They will throw crazy hours at you and expect you to work events understaffed. The Chef was so lazy and never did his job while the kitchen staff did everything. He did nothing. Worked our butts off and never got a raise so that he could pocket it as his bonus. The people who run the company have no idea how corrupt it is because they don't care about anyone that works for them. You will be overworked in the summer and have no hours in the winter. They would enforce all these rules on everyone strictly but had no regards for the rules themselves. 

The staff/ co-workers were the only thing that made it memorable and worth it. Everyone who works there complains about how horrible it is.

Most positions here won't have tons of hours year-round, but if you're looking for seasonal employment (racing season) this is an awesome place to be. The job can be busy and hectic, but the pay is very fair and if you have a good work ethic, management will show their appreciation often. The staff are excellent and make it fun to be at work. It's a great atmosphere and there are often opportunities for more shifts when events are being hosted. This is the best part time job I've ever had!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
4am-1 then 7-11 not paid hourly and depends on the day. Doing stall work, exercise for horses and grooming

The management there does not really know how to run a place. They are never around when you need them and rarely respond when you call or text them. The front of the house manager likes to leave and asks servers to man his position, while watching their own tables. Breaks are not given, even though you usually work 8 hours a shift. The people are really nice and the tips and money are good. But I would not recommend it if you are looking for a good job to stick with.

this job was REALLY fun, and i really did enjoy this job, the management is incredibly relaxed and forgiving. Some of the other staff are headaches to work with and sometimes are people you actively try to work with. Money was good. Upper management/Board of directors does what they want and if they don't like you or you do something they do not like they will fire you without hesitation.

Everyday at work is fine specially when you are very well familiar with your job, I learned a lot of things at Assiniboia Downs like using specialized cleaning equipment. The management and workplace culture is okay. But the salary and benefit do not compensate on the job that you are doing specially the place is not a bus route area.

Great starter job not many chances to grow into the company unless your related to someone higher up. Very enjoyable work though you’ll make a lot of great friends and customers can make the work very enjoyable 

A day at the Downs was always fun,  busy, and exciting. Management was great they worked closely with the crew. The variety of menu kept staff busy, fast paced steady. 

Worked at the Downs for two years, finally had enough of harassment by customers and disrespectful treatment by bartender. Security allowed patrons who harassed female staff to stay as they “bring in lots of money”. Didn’t get paid over time until 10 hours and never ever had a break. Would never go back
