The experience also strengthened my leadership, crisis intervention, and cross-cultural communication abilities.

I believe that the most stressful part can vary for each person. Some might find tight deadlines or managing multiple projects stressful, while others might feel the pressure of high expectations. It's important to find healthy ways to manage stress, like taking breaks and seeking support from colleagues.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being a summer camp counselor is such an exciting and rewarding experience! A typical day as a counselor involves planning and leading fun activities, supervising campers, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. You get to engage with campers, help them learn new skills, and create amazing memories together.

A typical day at work is setting up class. Have the student recite given material. Having student repeat vocabulary. Introducing student to our college. Teaching English rules in punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary.

I have learned that teaching English to a foreign student takes a lot more work. I have learned a little about her language and her country. I learned that the student loves our province and enjoys living here.

Management was always available and answered all questions I had. They were easy to reach by phone or email.

Co-workers were ready and willing to give any help needed and was very informative.

The hardest part of the job was trying to understand what the student was trying to communicate.

the most enjoyable part of the job was breaking through our language barriers and understanding each other. The student understanding the rules of English and putting them into practice.

The team was good, but the management don’t know what they are doing.

Short time contracts and there’s no guarantee of their extension.

It was quite ok, the collègues were friendly

All days were different. Sometimes we were doing nothing, sometimes we had no time for lunch.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day you chellange your self to serve and help people and newcomers

Working at ANC was a great experience. You are the first longstanding point-of-contact for most of the students there. You teach the same for three hours a day from 9 AM-12PM. Each class is leveled by the learners current English level, and you will spend your three hours teaching them Canadian culture, English skills appropriate for their level and social norms of Canada.

I'm really happy working for them, the management is very professional, kind and supportive, the ONLY ISSUE I HAVE IS THEY TAKE TOO LONG TO PAY, and they said they will pay on one date and change it for week later, they mention one rate for a specific task and change it before need to be pay. 

The workplace can be fast paced but also there are cool days. Working with the schools can be rewarding but also challenging due to many external factors. Clear communication is the most important thing in the job. Also understanding you cannot get results immediately. The clients are a gift and you form great bonds.

This was a very short, free-lance job, but I sincerely enjoyed the experience. I dream of being a professional translator.  
Working with different languages is what I am most passionate about; making sure the client is understood no matter what.
