I am thrilled to share my experience working at ASTOUND. It's been an incredible journey filled with challenges, learning opportunities, and a deep sense of fulfillment. I want to provide an honest review of my time at ASTOUND, highlighting both the company's growth and my personal experience.

Company Growth:

ASTOUND's growth over the years has been nothing short of astonishing. When I joined the company five years ago, it was already a promising player in the industry, but it was the collective effort and vision of our dedicated team that propelled us to new heights. Even throughout COVID, we have consistently expanded our client base, diversified our portfolio, and earned a reputation for delivering exceptional experiences. This growth can be attributed to several key factors:

Talented Team: ASTOUND has always attracted top talent in the industry. The dedication and passion of our team members have been instrumental in our success. Working alongside such creative and motivated individuals has been a privilege and a source of inspiration.

Personal Experience:

My journey at ASTOUND has been a deeply rewarding one. While every career comes with its fair share of challenges, the support and camaraderie within the company have made it an enjoyable ride. Here are some key highlights of my experience:

I've had the privilege of collaborating with colleagues who are not just skilled professionals but also wonderful individuals. The teamwork, encouragement, and mutual respect within ASTOUND's culture have been fundamental to my growth.

Professional Growth: ASTOUND has provided ample opportunities for professional development. Whether it's attending industry conferences, participating in internal training programs, or taking on new challenges, the company has continuously invested in my growth. This has allowed me to develop new skills and evolve in my role.

Company Success: Watching ASTOUND achieve one milestone after another has been immensely satisfying. It's a testament to the collective effort and dedication of our team. Being a part of this journey, witnessing the company's expansion, and contributing to our success has been a source of pride and motivation.

In conclusion, my experience at ASTOUND has been nothing short of amazing. The company's growth, commitment to excellence, and the wonderful people I've had the privilege of working with have made these five years truly memorable. I am excited about the future and look forward to continuing our journey of creating exceptional experiences and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the industry.

We are the most innovative company in our industry by far. We continue to add different service offerings to stay ahead of the competition.  

We work alongside some of the coolest and most incredible brands in the world. It makes me so excited to see an account I brought in come to life creatively through one of our lines of business.

ASTOUND is a unicorn of a company in every sense. Rarely do all the stars align where you find a company that can offer a fantastic culture, learning opportunities, true flexibility / work-life balance, a seasoned team of humble and kind professionals AND once in a lifetime project work that spans every facet of the marcom mix. I learn something new every day, and always feel inspired to dig in deeper. Management is strong and lead with an entrepreneurial mindset - they put their team first above all else.

Over the past couple of months it has been a roller coaster ride.  Not a structured environment.  The environment is very high stressed with absolutely no procedures in places.  A very difficult place to focus on daily routines.

It is very difficult to get anything accomplished.  Have worked most weekends since joining the company.

At the rate I am going.  Will experience a burn-out, which I simply can not afford.  Do not want to go into work anymore.

I have worked for over 3 decades. It is not the work that I can no longer deal with, it is the lack of management and stress of not being able to get my work done.

I am at my stage of my career that I no longer want this amount of stress.

It was a challenging time during the pandemic because of the nature of the work (experiential) but things have turned around and I believe they are headed in the right direction. The new President brings a lot of experience and is good counterpart to the visionary founder CEO. In my humble opinion, I don't think some of the negative reviews paint an accurate picture of where the company is now compared to last year when things were rough due to Covid. They did face some times and I'm sure a lot of people weren't thrilled with things but things are a lot better now and on the upswing.

The guys and girls on the shop floor that actually fabricated the products sold were the thankless souls that kept projects from imploding. Short deadlines, for projects that were comically under estimated, with no support from upper management.

The Design team does their best, but they are so overworked that no one is able to double check that the piece they designed in CAD can actually be assembled outside of a computer where solid objects aren't able to freely pass through each other. 

Forwarding AR collection emails to accounting was something I had to do multiple times a week. 

In short , stay away... In fact, run away while you are at it. 

A typical day there was sweeping the shop. I was lured there with promises and the carrot on the stick. After about a year I could see the writing on the wall, was more like an mlm pep rally than a place of business, and as such was more surface level saccharine where people cared more about position and spot than work produced. Was a boys club where politicking got you ahead more than merit and ability. Glad I left. Onward and upward. The people I worked with were good, just the overall atmosphere of the place was terrible. 

This company is good to work for if you have specialized business skills in design, administration or technical expertise or trades experience in building and structures. It's good for those who have completed their training in education and want to have a cool place to work to learn and show off their skills.

Way many PMs instead of people who can really do the work. Constantly need you to explain some basic things to management team cuz they don’t have knowledge on it. A good place for designers tho. Don’t recommend working here.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Astound. The overall vibe is VERY entrepreneurial, so if that's not your bag, steer clear. Often chaotic, but great clients/projects that make it worthwhile. Great staff of smart and fun people.
