What is the best part of working at the company?
I love my job. I like the atmosphere and most of all I like that there are many different people with different backgrounds and above all they like to give you that opportunity to prove that you are more than capable to do the job. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to leave my family for seven days and the packing. I'm not a fan of the packing. But it's great, I love it!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Diversity,  and individuality basically you can just be yourself and enjoy learning and meeting new and interesting people who come from different backgrounds and cultures. Safety is the utmost importance of our jobs, follow the rules with proper gear and training you can go along ways in the company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meet and greet with our manager and shift supervisor, and other workers from different companies.  We get our direction and information needed to carry our our jobs from our supervisor.  Basically the same day as the last. Or other direction to do otherwise. From management or site safety.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Athabasca Basin Security. This company has shown a complete lack of communication and integrity. From the beginning, there was minimal communication about important details, leaving employees in the dark about critical aspects of the job and their future with the company. Moreover, honesty seems to be a foreign concept to this company. They made several promises that they failed to keep, misleading employees and creating a work environment based on deception. This lack of transparency and respect for their employees is unacceptable. If you value clear communication, honesty and feeling valued in your workplace, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Athabasca Basin Security has proven that they do not prioritize these values, and i regret my time with them.

Very poor company to work for. Long hours little pay they promise you things at the start and dont follow through  with there words. Management is very bitter they cant do there jobs or anser there phones its a big headached and they dont even know what people do in there rolls they are just all there to collect a check. If you work a shift and feel ill expect to stay put they wont replace you. They let people come into work smelling like weed and do as they wish. If you want a dead end job with no advancement this is the job. They will also favor there favorites and not favor everyone although they will say they treat people with equality thats bull. they put a face on to give you shifts but watch out tbis is the worst security company i have worked for. Save your time and apply else where you will thank me later. 

I found it to be very trying in the beginning with having to leave my family. It didn't seem like enough days off for me. But that was just me, after I got used to being back in the work field and on my feet with all the patrols and searches. I got used to it and it was getting easier on me.  I just found that the ones who were there the longest were not being acknowledged more over than the ones who just got there.  I was there almost 2 years, and I saw that the new hires were being asked to fill in for hire paid positions, or temporary ones. But all in all, besides that and being overlooked for furthering my career within the company. I enjoyed my time there at the Mine. If I didn't have my own personal responsibilities in my own home, I would have stayed on. 

Little to no communication, with managers. Lack of support support from managers. No chance of advancement. If you're not the Manager you're replaceable. Expected to; find your own reliefs, Train yourself for each job site, say "YES" to everything or pay the consequences.

If you apply, and get a job. Keep a paper trail; Text Messages, Documents, etc. You will be put in a situation where you will be screwed over. 

This job isn't built for long term, you will be let go or demoted.

Tax free for status people,  no income tax deducted,  just EI

We don't get pay raise,  or any benefits, if something ever happened to the worker's 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not enough workers, to work casual,  when some one needs a emergency, 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's  good, to talk to the workers who acupy the building

Work consists of managing workers and ensuring that they are following site policies & procedures, daily health & safety meetings, performance assessments, developing worksite policies, record control and reports to company management. 
We have a strong team concept that makes sure we assist each other in providing a satisfied & courteous service to our clients.

The great co-workers on the crew

Making the coverage work when short handed

Pretty good for the most part

Busy nights from Monday to Wednesday, more relaxed the other nights

The unorganized management and how much they lie and are dishonest

It is up and down.. there were some really good people that made it worth being there

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was good I kept alot to myelf

Working at the mine with security, I have learn alot from my team mates, everyday was always a good day for all of us, we help each other whenever we are in a situation when it comes to do searching around the minesite, the hardest part of this job was escorting an termaination person off the property, and the most enjoyable job is meeting new people and welcoming new people to the site
