I worked shipping and receiving for about 6 months and over-all I enjoyed the job itself and the people I worked with. I was given a lot of trust on my first few days as I believe the employer saw potential in me. I generally had no issues with job, however, management needed to be overhauled and replaced. We were constantly heckled to move quicker and faster and weren't allowed to talk to one another while working nor would we be allowed to take any sort of breather unless it was break time (often called "standing around"). The building had buzzers to signal shift start-end and breaks and too me that's degrading however I can understand how it works well for others. We were treated like machines first in the shipping department and although to an extent I understand that shipping is time sensitive, paying your employee 12$/hr for fast paced hard physical labour is just unreal. Perhaps if the supervisory staff was replaced and wages were increased to an actual standard for warehouse employees I might have stayed.Not to mention ALL of my training was given by fellow employees, not by an actual trainer (just another excuse for the company to keep wages low) Another issue that bothered me was that they brought in a gentleman from Alberta to take a night shift supervisory position instead of giving it to a current employee. There were several who applied but were denied based on almost no merit. The guy they hired was an absolute A hole who would harass and corner employees about bathroom time (like we were 5 years old) 
For 12$ the only employees they should have is students but because of the demographic they are able to get away with it simply because in a small rural town, its either them or nothing and they capitalize on that. 
If you plan to be a truck a driver or supervisor, this is the place to work, otherwise I'd recommend the convenience store up the road first where you are treated like a human being (if not better) and get paid the same for less work.

I was working at a location in my field of schooling (pharmacy tech) an hour away from my home. I decided that was wreaking havoc on my home life. 

I applied with an emailed resume and got a reply for an interview almost immediately. I went for the interview and basically got hired during the interview.

I worked in the shipping department for 6 months, then interviewed for and got hired as the second in command of the glass department. I was in that position for 18 months. During that time, I was also acting department head for 9 months when the head broke his ankle.

Fairly good company to work for. They try to balance the work/life thing for the employees, but it’s very difficult in this current situation (Covid).

The people. I have made amazing friends.

Accuracy for setting machines.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly and diverse but don't be scared to get dirty 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You are constantly moving around and running multiple machines

Had several job reviews during my time here and each time the supervisor would claim something new as being a problem but the guys working with me couldn't understand why he felt that way.  They also have company policies that go against provincial employment standards.  So don't expect to get away with even a couple sick days or your gonna be back here looking for a job.

I would load trailers with windows and doors in various sizes. I learned and continue to learn the value of team work, everybody i worked with was respectful and kind. The hardest part of the job was working in the trailers on a hot day in the summer, its always way hotter than outside. Everyday was enjoyable because all my colleagues are great people.

As a newcomer from out of province the management showed me from day 1 that I was an outsider whose opinions and ideas were unwelcome. The inmates run the asylum with zero to no respect shown for supervisors. If you want to show up when you want and get rewarded for it. This is the place for you. I would encourage all job seekers to do whatever it takes to find a job outside this company.

Don't take old reviews for granted, management is constantly looking for improvement and they value their employees. If you are a good worker and want to be recognized for it, this company is the right place for you. If you live near one of the plants, don’t hesitate to apply there. They will train you and make you feel like part of the family. 

Workers are constantly pushed to work beyond their means with substandard equipment and in Hot work conditions. Management Bullies on the floor pushing and threatening …. All management are appointed as a reward for time served … few have actual training in their field .

working here is like riding a unicycle... but the unicycle is on fire... and your on fire... and everything is on fire... and your in *ell.

its a job, it has its ups and downs but its better then flipping burgers.

The job is fun but the don't offer much personal time. 64 hours a year, yet you get a "verbal" write up after 20 hours.  You get paid the same amount of you can do multiple jobs or just one.  This company takes advantage of people who live rural.
