Auld Phillips

Your typical work day is 8-430. No paid lunch break but you get a 15 minuet that’s paid. Very repetitive and on your feet all day lifting  heavy boxes for minimum wage. There is no performance reviews and no wage increases. You start at minimum wage and stay there. They have hired people and fired them before they reached probation. You get 50% off clothes but the clothes are usually 80-100 dollars and are cheaply made. They do black out dates for half the year where you can’t book a day off.  Don’t even think about trying to have small talk with co workers, you will get in trouble for talking. No fun, it’s a soul sucking place. No windows just Florescent lights. Huge turn over rate. There’s a huge lack of communication.  You do the same thing day in and day out. The only good thing is having weekends and holidays off and your co workers are nice. 

Meet and greet customers.  Determine their needs.  Assist them with finding the appropriate product.

Learned that the expectation of the staff was work as hard as you can with very little compensation.  

Store management made a great effort to meet the personal and professional needs of the staff.

The culture within the workplace was that of co-operation among the staff.  Assist each other willingly and graciously.

The lack of consideration and recognition for how hard the staff worked.  Very physical.

Meeting and getting to know the customers.

The team of ladies at Auld Phillips is a team every work place needs. They look out for each other and genuinely care for each other’s well being. If you’re looking for a part-time job with co-workers and a manager who cares about them, I recommend stopping by and picking up and application and dropping it back off with your resume. Also anyone interested in an assistant manager position should check it out. 

The management here know literally nothing about payroll or HR. They make unethical and illegal decisions. They don’t value employees. They have been non-compliant with WCB with bullying and harassment which is no surprise since absolutely no in here seems to have any knowledge of labour standards and/employee rights. They have been conveniently eliminating positions of employees who  have been here for years to make room for younger and less expensive employees without cause.

A typical day involves Customer Service, helping Women to  look and feel beautiful is the most rewarding part of my job.

Maintaining a clean, organized and professional work place.

The hardest part of the job is moving and continually rotating of
a very large inventory.

Merchandising is the fun side.

I continue to develop my Customer Service skills on a daily basis. I enjoy the beautiful fashion designs that the Company is known for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Monday to Friday. Weekends off. They donate to local charities

Lack of xommunication. The wage

Can be fun. Lack of fresh air. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy at times. But has slow times.

I love the job I am currently at, I work 8-430 Monday-Friday. I'm doing something different everyday. I'd say I am a floater there. Doing certain jobs to help different people out.  I love the people I work with, they always make the days go by faster and more fun.  The only downfall is the management of the company is not run well, and that is what has me looking for another job.

I believe this is the best Company I've worked for, because the clothes, customers and uniqueness, is unparalleled to other retailers.  I love the fashions.  I love the environment and I love the people.  The communication about expectations is very clear and you always know where you stand.  I'm a BIG Fan!!!

I started right out of school and have felt like a valued team member. I have been given the opportunity to take on tasks and grow my knowledge of the business quickly. I love coming to work and seeing my co workers every day!

The management from the top is very unprofessional and difficult to work with.  With a lack of respect to others' opinions and little appreciation of the efforts put into one's work, it is a crushing environment to work in.
