It's worth noting that the 5 star reviews were written on and around the same dates, because HR was trying to solicit good reviews.

Every single day at work was miserable. Trying to wake up to go to work was one of the most difficult things to do, because work was discouraging.  Aside from going home, the only positive thing was meeting some of the amazing people you work with who make work slightly less soul crushing. 

My mental, physical, and emotional state deteriorated quickly. Working here was entirely a waste of time, and the environment was toxic. There aren't many decent internal opportunities, and favouritism brings upward mobility instead of merit and seniority. There's a very high turnover rate. Some people just walk out, or don't even bother to show up anymore. That speaks volumes about working for this company. Nobody wants to. 

Management is abysmal, poor, clueless, incapable, and unsupportive to say the very least. Often, your job includes chasing after management so they could contact customers. When that doesn't happen, customers will use you as a verbal punching bag to release their frustration, and you end up profusely apologizing for things out of your control. If a customer is verbally abusing you, you are expected to take it and management does not defend you. Rules are constantly bent and overstepped by management.

The culture here is terrible. They only care about money and numbers. If you can't help them line their pockets, you're insignificant. Everyone is in it for themselves and nobody cares about you. You'll survive if you suck up. Management turns a blind eye when those who suck up make countless mistakes. Unless you are a yes man and a brown noser, you won't go anywhere. There's absolutely no growth for you.

Pay is also abysmal, minimum wage is what you'll get and what they'll strive to keep you at. You perform well, and get rewarded with a ton of other responsibilities and work dropped on your lap. These extra responsibilities now become your daily responsibilities, but you won't be compensated fairly for it. You do things that are beyond your pay grade all the time. 

If you already have your own life insurance, too bad because you have to pay for it again with the company. 

I don't recommend anyone working here, even if you're desperate. Why would you want to work a depressing and directionless job? It doesn't even pay well to make all this remotely justifiable. Save yourself the braincells and copious amounts of stress if you value your health and sanity.

The coworkers you will meet are great people(technicians, support staff etc) , and some of the management is good there(assistant manager and the female manager) . But the main contact there for management in service was unbelievably condescending and crude. Unprofessional making comments such as “to work here you must look a certain way and put yourself together” when asked if not following those guidelines you are met with empty conversation with no constructive information. Complete lack of empathy and understanding. The way you will be spoken to is as if you are a child whom cannot explain themselves without being called defensive or told you are giving excuses. Working there taught me the type of manager I would NEVER want to work for. For management to allow you to be let go and have to then pack all your things up infront of everyone is horrible and a complete failure to ensure privacy and dignity to that individual whom put time in. 

The overall hiring experience through the HR department located in Willowdale was pleasant, AWIN HR does not drag their feet when it comes to the hire of new candidates. The manager, that I had worked with at the time was terrible, he was deceptive and selfish. Service and Parts department always had little disputes and arguments, ultimately there were too many two faced seniors that worked there that influenced the new hires, which led to some great talents to often leave. I am grateful that I am no longer working for that store as I have achieved a lot of better and greater things after my departure. Fair playing grounds were implemented from the HR department, however anything in the managers reach were not. 

To this day I still tell people that the AWIN group itself is great, however with certain people in Management, it ruins the reputation of an amazing automotive group.

Free food and treat once in a while... nothing else I can think of

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything... dealing with crazy customers, cooperating with incapable managers, hitting bunch of KPI, working with no plan, long working hour, out of date tools and technology... the list goes on...

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Super busy, miserable, chaotic, demanding, unfriendly, no plan and direction, limited opportunity, lack of communication...

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in, settle in your desk, make outbound calls and take inbound calls all day non-stop, review appointments and make more calls when it is your day of the week, clock out and head home at the end of the day... Very repetitive and nothing to learn in the job that you can imagine.

If you had the choice to work here please do not make the same mistake as I did and work somewhere else. This was the most depressing and toxic place I’ve ever worked at. Everyday was a constant dreadful experience. Management barely knows how to do their jobs and most of the time don’t want to. Blame culture here is very prevalent especially when you’re new, be prepared to be blamed for every little thing you haven’t done. I will admit despite the displeasure I’ve had of working at this place I have learned some good skills that I am now using somewhere else. But do not work here unless you’re really desperate. They also give so much work for such little pay. Also no one ever takes accountability for their mistakes so you have to be the one dealing with it. 

Having worked for a few different automotive groups over a span of 15 years, this has been the best by far. Does that mean there are no flaws? Life is not perfect and neither is any company or organization. You have to put in the time and effort to make the environment good for you. Grass is only green where you water it. Management team is great, open communication, culture is great, tremendous learning and growth opportunities. I put in 6 years of hard work, both in cultivating relationships with employees, management and clients and it has been nothing but rewarding. 

Personally, I enjoyed the experience of working in a car dealership. I however, found that favoritism was rampant within the dealership and that managers did not care enough to resolve the issues that the employees were having. The managers opening talk badly behind each other's and the overall workplace culture and atmosphere was very tense and stressful. The co-workers were the most enjoyable part of the job and you got to meet some amazing new friends.

The work was fine and somewhat enjoyable, good balance of free time and focusing. The staff around me was nice and good to work with, although some were a bit lazy which can be frustrating. Our direct managers were good as well, however the ownership and executive team were a bit out of touch and were difficult to get communication from.

As an employee (current) with AWIN since 2001, I would (and have) wholeheartedly recommend this company as a career choice.  AWIN is a collection of 14 new car dealerships, plus an additional 3 collision centres.
Personally, I have enjoyed the perfect work-life balance.  Professionally, I have been able to grow within the company, as AWIN always prefers to promote from within.  See you soon.

no advancement, recognition and seniority. will make you harass customers in order to get appointments. management does not care about their employees and employee's opinion. also, management turnover here is unbelievable. great coworkers but not management. do yourself a favour and try to avoid this group if you can.
