Dealing with children can never be easy as they have not grown up to distinguish between right and wrong using logic. However, they can be easy to work with, with the proper communication technique. They do not respond well to yelling and being told off, but with a little more of a gentle coaxing, they obey immediately. Definitely, it can be unpredictable, but I have a group of co-workers that are just as understanding and can help solve any issues

A typical day
1) Sign in all Leaders, Leaders in training, spark kids 
2) Assist spark kids in learning new words and memorizing Biblical versus to enhance their learning abilities o a time constraint
3) Assist the Leaders to make sure classroom behavior is shown
4)Teach spark kids to be attentive, respectful and skeptical towards guest speakers
5)Review with the parents what their child can improve on and what they can reward them on

The job was not paid, and was incredibly vague as to my expectations in the setting. Was constantly moved to cover different and various positions with little to no training, and then penalized for the lack of experience I had in those areas

During my stay at AWANA I had a lot of fun volunteering. I was tasked with basic work such as setup,teardown and bible teaching. Although I am not religious, even till this day, I still had a great time there. They welcome me with open arms regardless of my beliefs.

It was great working at AWANA's, I enjoyed working with the other staff and the kids that came. I enjoyed having a positive affected on kids and there lives. I enjoyed being hands-on and being involved with teaching the kids there.

As an awana volunteer I work with children grades 3-5. Assisting in elective programs, attendance, spending quality time with the children, and help organize for future events.

Great job, good atmosphere, would want better management. Learned how to work with people. Most enjoyable part of my experience was the kids, enjoyed instructing and creating games.

Got to interact and help lots of kids with games, songs, and bible verses. I gained lots of social skills and experience for future jobs. This helped me gain my 40 hours of community service.

Awana serves churches, leaders and youth in over 107 countries around the world. It has been my pleasure to reshape and develop the Canadian ministry and almost double the ministry in the past 5 years.
