There are so many positive things to say about Axis Family Resources. 

The environment is clean and professional with a very business casual vibe. The staff has been overly welcoming, accommodating and genuinely appreciative of the work that I do. 

Management from various departments take note of requests and will have a response in a timely fashion. Its understandable that not all requests can be filled but knowing that the supervisors listen and respond is a fantastic trait of Axis.

The equipment provided is adequate for the tasks assigned. Always working on various projects on top of the daily duties. Fast pace but never too much.

A typical work day would be as follows: Walking into the front door while greeting everyone and getting greetings back. Turning on my computer to view how the IT queue looks and checking on my office phone for any emergency messages. Next I work alongside my associate to fill all requests in a timely manner. Once all tickets are filled, I begin working on the various projects assigned to me or assist the office staff with any hiccups or questions that arise. I tend to take my lunch at 12:00. After lunch it is more of the same; check the queue and phone messages and working on projects. And then I leave for work. Usually a great day 

I've had the opportunity to increase my aptitude in graphic design, video editing, Azure, Citrix, fleet roll out and html. Plus much more.

I have been thoroughly enjoying my time at Axis Family Resources. Being able to support those that support others by doing the career I absolutely love has been a dream come true. 

The people we support are awesome. Management is not. Save yourself heartache and apply to other companies-NOT Kindale either.
Axis is For Profit! Good training to begin with then NONE. Management are not experienced and not trained yet still try and tell you what to do even if you have more experience than the person doing the telling. Also, was bullied into accepting shifts I did not want, Extremely low pay for the extremely high expectations. You also will run your vehicle into the ground with having to drive people around. No ongoing training or development and no room for advancement except to a tiny bit higher pay with tons more hours. Not worth the promotion for the pay of maybe an extra dollar an hour. There are lots of good employers in this field. JUST NOT AXIS.
The employees are wonderful caring people who are being burned by BAD management.

They do not care about their staff unless it is to make a gain for themselves. Can't trust upper management and they will listen in on every conversation you have in the office. Will throw you under the bus rather than admit they made a mistake. Sneaky and underhanded. Tell you that you are hired for a job and then later tell you that it isn't the right job. Don't explain or train you in the position and throw you in blind. Will burn you out in six months or less, depending on the position. If you go into a supervisory role you will be exempt from overtime but they will expect you to put in long hours and you will not be compensated for them. No support from upper management when you go on medical leave except to tell you to use the Humana care. If another coworker feels threatened by you they will lie to management to get rid of you and this includes senior program managers. They do not help the youth they are trusted to help in the their residential programs. Youth age out with no skills, boundaries and all they have learned is that it doesn't matter what they do or if they physically hurt others, they still get what they want. Their funding agency should take a deep look at the inside workings of this agency and reconsider their options.

I have worked with this Axis family for many years! The opportunities to work, grow and continually challenge me are endless. Never a boring, slow day but I thrive and enjoy a fast pace and love my challenges. 
I have been able to go from an Admin role thru various other roles and now on to the Manager of our IT Department. I have been able to develop many skills and passions guided and helped by my co workers and team. 
Axis as a whole, has a great team, we have a united, diverse culture, amazing range of capabilities and strengths amongst us and a supportive leadership group of over 50 amazing people. Our front line workers, counsellors, outreach workers, caregivers, admin teams, HR, IT and Finance teams, are all dedicated and motivating individuals. Strong and innovative. I find our workplace, both at office, and virtually more so these days is so very inviting, supportive and always leave me smiling. 
Our forefront is that each and every one of us, regardless of Job Title or department cares deeply about the clients and families we serve. 

I have worked for Axis for almost 8 years now. I have always been supported really well by program management as well as Human Resources and upper management. I have worked with a lot of individuals who have come from competitor companies that give me perspective on how high quality Axis services are, and how the support for it's employees is important at Axis. This job can be a very high stress job, depending on the challenges of the youth that you work with. However, I have found that management are very sensitive to employee feedback and are willing to support in any way possible to ensure that staff feel supported, and safe. I have even been relocated to other programs when the fit just wasn't working either for the youth, or for myself. Axis also demands high standards of care from it's employees. I think this helps to keep morale high in a sometimes tough work environment. If you are thinking of trying youth residence work. I would recommend Axis above all other companies in Kamloops. Some companies do pay a little more per shift, but do not provide the support and teamwork that you need to be satisfied in this line of work. I know this from a lot of feedback from coworkers over the years.

Poor Management, don't work here!
This organization does not care about the safety of its staff. I am a former staff and had to work by myself even though it is a requirement to have 2 staff at all times for the safety of staff. There were many issues and some injuries that happened to staff which some could have been prevented by better management. For example, a staff expressed to management that they didn't feel safe in a certain situation and they did nothing about it or did nothing to change it. Staff are burnt out and their opinion/feedback is not heard by management or the union even though we are the ones interacting with the youth most of the time. The staff turnover rate is SO high because staff don't feel heard safe or supported. Would not recommend working here. The only positive is that some of the colleagues are nice and fun to work with!

I feel Axis tries to think of creative and manageable supports to the people we serve and our coworkers. I always feel that the team pulls together from front line to our management team to ensure all of our collaborative knowledge can be useful when tough crisis arise or when things cant just be black and white. Axis has always felt like a family and I am glad to be a part of this team. I enjoy seeing the management always striving to work harder and make changes as they come. I also see that some of the things coworkers and myself have brought forward are being addressed and glad to know we are being heard. This type of work setting makes me feel best. We work in high stress and sometimes don't get to always have the time to get to know and acknowledge our coworkers but when you know you are being heard and feel like you are being listened too it sure feels good.

 I worked at Axis for over 2 years. It was beyond challenging, a nightmare during the last 6 months and I worked above and beyond. However, management did not value me or the danger I was exposed to. They ignore seniority and new staff  quit within days/weeks due to the toxic work environment and poor management.  A shift was 24 -72 hours long, rare breaks, 16 hour days and little sleep. Staff often go down on stress leave. There is a high turn over, thus why there are many 5 star reviews, think about why that is. I never met anyone who was happy with the way they were treated.  I would not recommend the stress that working for this company entails. 

This is the first company I have worked at, that made me feel valued, welcomed and understood....I have worked for almost 7 months, with this company, and for the most part, it's good.....there is one superior tho, that isnt so great, and had issues being belittled and patronized from that person...luckily, the company has other programs, so flexibity is great, as I was able to move to different program and didn't have to work directly under them....I also have found that when superiors state to come to them with issues, 
but falls on deaf ears, at times .....overall though, the company itself is a decent place to work, the work is interesting and suitable for many types of people, pay is good, and if not for the one person in a higher up position that has been an issue, I would have made my review higher.....(even tho its only one person, it still affects the workers, and they/we now have to tolerate the negative dealings from this person, as it seems there is no recourse, so that affects my overall review)....but i do feel it's a good company overall and enjoy working for Axis

Being a small part of helping people participate in life for me, I find very rewarding. I have learned a tremendous amount since being employed with Axis, I don't even know where to start. There is always room provided for advancement, and opportunities to learn and grow. The management is great, although always very busy, she always makes time for her employees. The work Culture is very diverse which makes work interesting as there are many perspectives to draw from when dealing with a Person Served. The most difficult part of the job is when one is wanting so bad to help a Person Served help themselves, and the Person Served (due to past traumas) does not accept the help or trust the worker. I enjoy every part of the job that I am doing at the time. Have been at Axis for awhile now, and have 0 complaints.
