Unfortunately, you also dragged into the family drama. The "operations manager" is very nice at first, but she's very stressed and takes it out on her office staff. She does try very hard to make a fun working environment with music and joking around when she's in a good mood, but the feeling of having to constantly walk on eggshells because of the random outbursts really isn't worth it. 
You're also expected to download and participate in a group chat app on your personal phone. You can't even get away from the drama and trash talking when you are at home.
I was only there a week and a half and stepped right out of that situation. Three other people quit during the time I was there. 
I did, however, enjoy the nature of the job and many of the other office staff. I enjoyed building a rapport with the drivers and customers. 


A typical day working @ B&D is being bullied my the “boss”, having your mental state be crushed, and having to walk on egg shells. I learned this is not a company to work for. Management will humiliate, bully and scream at you daily. The workplace culture is toxic and not at all what a work environment should be. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the “boss” because you never knew what personality you were getting from her that day and she never gives new staff opportunity, she just fires them. Barely any training, just told to “figure it out”. There was nothing I enjoyed about this job.  

Stay away! You are a temporary resource no matter what longevity they promise you. The manager is terrible and you arent compensated for: fueling, cleaning out trailers, loading/offloading, paperwork, pre/post trips and their mileage pay is awfully low. Also if you have a payroll problem, it will take weeks to months for them to get it sorted out because there is only one lady to do it and she is completly incompetent. Every other driver you meet there will be gone the next week because they quit or are fired. STAY AWAY, A TERRIBLE COMPANY

I am new to the company but they are very welcoming. The guys in the service department are friendly and helpful. Management are trying to keep the workplace fun and professional. Everyone is striving to maintain a good work relationship between all departments and improve any areas that need work. There is constant work for drivers and mechanics, as they have their own fleet of trucks and trailers. I am looking forward to continuing working here and improving both myself and the workplace if possible.

Did not enjoy my time with B&D Walter Trucking. The Management was terrible and the manager did not treat the employees with any respect. Every day at work was like walking on eggshells because you were scared any little thing you did wrong the manager would find some way to make you pay for your mistake. Working there was like I was back in high school. Clicky and very unprofessional.

Manage your own time. You can make your own schedule but this will also determine how much you can make. Some loads need to be unloaded between 8am to 5pm so you need to plan your trips to avoid waiting time. The trucks are in good condition but as a new driver you will probably be driving something that is 10 to 14 years old. Mechanics are excellent. If you do a proper pre and post trip and also fill out the cry sheets they will fix anything you need done.

Good, when I was out driving.didn’t have to deal with the office staff

If you want to work with people who don’t care about you this is the place for you. Management is disgusted with their drivers. They don’t care if you get paid or how much you get paid. They don’t care if you drive a piece of equipment that constantly breaks down. They don’t pay you to load or unload. They barely pay you to drive by the mile. Their own clients don’t like them.

Lots of miles to idaho, drop hook go

Things are great until they aren't. The unpredictability of the owner will leave you walking on egg shells. I was so anxious and stressed by the time i decided to leave that even the thought of having to go into work made me physically ill. It is not worth it, the turn over rate is unbelievable and the owner will not take accountability for being the problem.
