The BCOGC (now known as BCER) was an excellent place to work. To this day it’s still my favourite and I would love to return. The work life balance was wonderful, it was easy to request time off and utilize PTO. The office was exploding with intelligent people to learn from and work under. It was truly an enjoyment. They have learning plans in place for you to train and further your education and take yourself in the direction you would like to go. There was typical office drama at times but only with one department. It could easily be tuned out an avoided. It’s a respectable environment that is truly professional. 

OGC was a good place to work and with competitive salary. The workplace was fun especially with fellow employees and their cultures. It was a place to learn new knowledge and to acquire dynamic experiences in the oil and gas industry working with an array of stakeholders, including public, industry, first nation communities and environmental advocates.

Worked as Property Manager for 2 buildings in Victoria. Temporary assignment to cover maternity leave...lasted 18 months.
Multi-faceted position that involved quick thinking during times when an emergency occurred.

There is a ton of work and training opportunities to start in one area and move to another. Leadership and management could do a better job of respecting subject matter expertise, but on a whole a great place to work. Pay is higher than government and better perks, including a pension plan! 

Work/life balance is excellent. Wonderful people to work with. Excellent job perks and benefits. Pay is very good. Would recommend very highly a position with the BC Oil and Gas Commission. 

The BC Oil & Gas Commission is a very exciting place to work.

The company legislates oil and gas regulation for the province of BC. 

You have the opportunity to grow with the experience others have to offer in this industry.

Overall, it was a new experience, one that was extremely worthwhile.
Work timings were 8:30-4. I learned a lot about site remediation and stewardship. The management is very cooperative and encourages new ideas.

I enjoyed my time working at the BCOGC.  I was hired as a data entry clerk and everyone at the commission were very welcoming and friendly.  I definitely recommend working there.

Has very good work/life balance. Getting time off can be challenging at times. The business management is good, they have a firm grasp of the direction of the organization.
