Was hired as Full-Time Baker's Assistant at Beans Around The World a few years ago. Started working as a novice but received sufficient on-the-jobs training to handle my role with competence.  

My tole mainly consisted of baking the daily menu orders according to business demands for the day.

I friggin love this place. I've never been treated with such respect from management, and work culture is #1 priority here. it's very fast paced so best to have cafe experience prior to coming here. we pay for items at cost and free drinks on/off shift. tons of opportunities to learn catered to specific skillsets/interests. I learned how to roast coffee beans here with zero prior training! the community is beautiful and the location brilliant. favourite workplace yet 👌

- i loved that it was pretty relaxes and the food and coffee we had was amazing!

- you learn drinks and such soon enough and its a pretty simple job!
- cleaning tables is also super easy 
-the main thing i would say to keep an eye on is how fresh the coffee is and making sure that everything is stocked up for the customers (milk, sweetener, napkins ect)
-really chill place 
-hardest part was the rude customers but that comes with every job

A typical day at work was busy and demanding, but taught me to never stop working although some days were monotonous. The management and ownership of this cafe is spectacular; I have never had such great bosses in my life who cared more about me as a person than anything else. The hardest part of the job were some very early mornings; the most enjoyable part of the job were the people I worked with and the customers I got to make coffee for.

Held coffee preparation demonstration and assisted customers with selections of various coffee blends, teas, hot and cold espresso beverages, smoothies, and bakery items
Handled cash transactions and balanced the cash register at end of shift
Closed store and maintained store cleanliness

There are opening and closing shifts. Opening shifts are easier but its early in the morning and gets busy around 11am-4pm. There are usually two people working (barista and cashier).

Learned lots about coffee and the efforts that went into roasting and presenting a good product. The management team was very helpful, it was a fast paced environment so it made working fun and productive.

The coffee shop has regular customers a lot.
The workers can talk to customers easily.

A great, relaxed atmosphere with nice customers. Training was provided to learn to make all the drinks. Great boss, great people. Short shifts, not good for full time.

Super fun environment to work at while working through high school and university. Stressful and understaffed at times but that’s just at fault of having a very young staff.
