I have been with Betz Pools for 34 yrs, starting as a service mechanic and working my way through all aspects of the company and now presently the Renovations manager. My days are filled with scheduling, site management, meeting with the customer, preparing quotes and sending the men out daily.
Hardest part of the job is aligning the sub trades so the different aspects of the job run smoothly. I’ve learned to always prepare for the worst as it’s always good to be looking at it, than to be looking for it!! Our business relies on our employees, who are trained in their specific job title. Training is on going, as well as room for advancement as Betz Pools is a growing company within the pool industry. 
With having near 150 employees, we are a very diverse company, in colour, religion, in thought process, and in all this, Betz Pools is a healthy company and looking to spread its wings.
The best part of the job is seeing the finished project and a hand shake from the customer on a job well done.

Since getting introduced to the Betz work-sphere my excitement and passion for work has only gone up! From the start of the day in the weekly service department everyone comes in with a smile on their face with funny anecdotes from what happened on their shift to the previous days to the other crew memebers of Betz saying hi to you as you walk by, the second you get on site you are family!  Each day you get 8-10 pools to go service and that ranges from chemical checks, full clean of pools, and servicing of the pumps to make sure everything is running smoothly! Management is very, VERY, understandable and reasonable; understanding everyone has life outside of work. There is truley nothing bad I can say about this job and I would recommend to everyone thinking about getting in the pool business!

Working at Betz has provided me with lots of opportunities, such as being able to see many different areas of Ontario that I would never have seen, along with both personal and professional growth. The people at the company all care about each other very much, and as it has grown over the years the employees have invited the new employees in like family, never missing a step. There is lots of room to grow within the company, as long as you put in the work and dedication, regardless of the department you start in. When I was hired on, they said welcome to the Betz Family, and truly has been like that.

A typical day at work for me includes driving to and from job sites and maintaining pools cleanliness as well as that their chemicals alongside my partner. since working for the company i’ve learned everything there is to know about water chemistry and what it takes to keep a pool running at its best ability. the hardest part of the job for me is waking up in the morning to be there on time! and the best part is the job itself, there’s so much freedom and so many friendly faces, each day is as enjoyable as the last and if i’m being honest i wouldn’t change a thing.

I’ve worked the construction department of Betz pools for 13 years building gunite pools. I left a career in carpentry and came to Betz because a friend who had worked here for years said it was a great place to work for. He was right. I used my skills in carpentry and construction to adapt quickly to a new work environment and skill set. The team was quite willing to teach and help me learn. Betz pools has allowed me to further my career at place where I feel comfortable and enjoy going to work every day 12 months of the year!!

I came from another company in the same industry that was cut-throat and manipulative. They expected me to work 7 days a week for most of the year and only cared about their profit margins. 
Working at Betz pools couldn’t be more different. We still care about profit for the company, but life needs to be about more than just work. The family atmosphere here is amazing and we all work well together. I’m looking forward to being her for the rest of my career.

my topical day at work consist of driving to different places and working on all different pools which help me learn the different systems. the management is okay. i wouldn’t say the best but definitely more organized then other years. the hardest part of the job is is having a difficult pool or an old pool that is very sensitive. the best part of the job is that i never stop learning. every pool is different in its own way. so it keeps the job exciting.

Very much a team environment given the nature of the pool and spa industry here in Canada. Education given the products we use is strongly supported by Betz and suppliers.  Focus being safety first.....no exceptions.   Management is always available to answer any questions or concerns an employee may have.  Very much a family based business with numerous generations involved.

I loved working at Betz this year. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They have a lot of opportunities to extra pay if you are a hard worker and want to do a great job. Looking forward to next season!!

Starting at Betz over 14 years ago, I was told that with hard work and dedication, and an ability to work well with others, I would be able to climb the ladder and make a real career  
Since then I have worked in 3 departments and I have a real career with more possibilities for advancement ahead.
