What is the best part of working at the company?
Working on site with local staff of the companies (BFG) serves was a good experience. But BFG itself does not value its employees and they are more concerned about saving a nickel so they hire under qualified people at lower wages.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with team leads that are inconsiderate and ignorant. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
While you work on your own in your own van and the culture at the job site is good. The culture with your fellow coworkers can be troublesome at times due to favorability by the team lead leads.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day is starting at eight in the morning. Your job Q is on your phone so you know the jobs that you have to do but if there is a few jobs and nothing to do, they will make you do tedious tasks just to keep you busy for no reason at all.

Worked their almost a year, ZERO issues. ZERO feedback about my job performance, ZERO!!

They called me at night when I was sleeping, and demanded I go to a site for an emergency, even though I was not on call! Or I had to stay at a site till I was "released" by tech support. It was 4am, I was there for almost 12 hours!

Fired and replace with no explanation. Literally zero reason was given, just “this is your last day” and goodbye. Just said, it was a company decision, meaning some upper management dude made a decision about someones life, and gave ZERO reason why.

Other techs accused of harassment, swearing on the job, griping about customers, at the customers site! Smoking all day. Being late for work or not showing up at all. Misplacing parts or parts going “missing”.
All this, and I was let go with no reason???  

Management needs major improvement.  

Would never recommend, just terrible.

Terrible Management and Toxic Environment

Working at BFG has been one of the most frustrating experiences in my career. The management—especially the Winnipeg supervisor—is incredibly condescending, rude, and lacks any real leadership skills. Suggestions or ideas for improvement are shut down immediately, as they are extremely resistant to any kind of change. Trying to bring fresh ideas to the table is like talking to a brick wall.

The work culture is stifling. You’re expected to do more than what you’re paid for, and there is absolutely no room for salary negotiation or growth. Raises are unheard of, and any conversation about compensation is dismissed with hostility. The environment is toxic, and morale is consistently low due to poor communication and lack of support from leadership.

If you’re looking for a company that values its employees and encourages growth or innovation, stay far away from BFG.

Been working here for years. Was an amazing place to begin off with. Lately its micromanaging the bad techs that should not have a job. This micromanagement has spread out to everyone. Also the more work they provide you with. Do not think youll get a raise anytime soon. This company only gives out raises to friends who have been hired. I have picked up 3 different job skills here at this company and the amount of years here. No pay increase. But, the good bonus is. You'll receive a new uncomfortable jacket every couple of years. The force you to take time off for vacation time. I was forced to take all my time off. I would of rather been paid out. My family has left me because of this job as you will be working LONG hours and sent all over the country at the last minute. If you say you cant. You will get quilted into doing it with them telling you how awesome you are to help. Kids birthday.....FORGET about it!

Terrible company to work for. All levels of management ignore safety and life balance concerns. When they finally agree to talk they belittle you and misrepresent you to the next level of management. They want technicians available 24/7, but they do not provide enough manpower to rotate shifts and provide rest. There is no room for growth; 5 years with the company and no raises. Bonuses are based on how long you’ve been with the company. Poor training. Toxic work environment: it’s always adversarial whenever you need to deal with someone on another team. The management doesn’t want to manage. Continually face the same issues over and over again. For each project or task you’ll need to figure it out in your own, if you’re lucky you’ll be given an outdated document to review. There’s no culture within the company to learn and make things better.

Working at this company was one of the most negative experiences I’ve had. The environment was toxic, and there was a complete lack of professionalism from management. Instead of constructive feedback or respectful communication, it was common to be spoken to with raised voices and even swearing from your direct manager — something that should never be acceptable in any workplace.

HR and leadership showed little to no concern for employee well-being or fair treatment. Concerns were either ignored or brushed aside. There was no sense of job security, and major decisions affecting employees were made without warning or justification.

If you value respect, professionalism, and a supportive work environment, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

I would not call it stress, just a feeling of management not caring about their employees, not caring about retention. Seemed we were all dispensable.

See previous statement, it's like they only cared about the bottom line and employees were not considered.

There were no typical days....

BFG Enterprise Services is a is great place to work, in terms of providing direction and as a starting point in pursuing a career within an IT related field.  I've learned a lot from peers to upper management as they all have significant knowledge across the board.  Every department holds a major piece to the company's success.  Management seems to be good overall. They provide good understanding, direction and knowledge based decision making for the growth of the company.

My experience remains good at BFG and I would recommend this company to anyone looking to start their career in an IT related field,

What is the best part of working at the company?
I really enjoyed the work here. Too bad Covid happened.   I hope they recover with the expansion soon.  Very good management let the team get down to the work.  Facilitate the work work  provided.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Really only the 2020 Pandemic.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very cool project work that enabled new projects to grow with great collaboration with colleagues.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast Paced. Up on point scheduled project work following through with deadlines in mind.

this is a great company to work for if you dont enjoy being home with your family or love being shipped out of town for weeks at a time.  this is a no learing environment, to get put on a task that someone off the street could do and when you ask to learn something new there is no time and you get the stink eye, they do not care for there workers as all they care about is money and well step over you to get it. the hardest part of my job would be never knowing where i am working to, one day i could be an hour from home and the next on a night shift or they might throw in a out of town job where you will be gone for weeks at a time
