Bibles For Missions Thrift Shop is where I received my volunteer hours. I contributed by helping unpack given items and made sure they were in good condition to be distributed towards the store. I learned how to handle customers and how to work as a team. Even though at the time i was the youngest one working there, the co-workers i toiled with were very friendly and nice. A typical day at work was putting items away, hanging clothes for a few hours then eating lunch and next going back to work. The hardest part of the job was that sometimes I had to spend the whole day hanging clothes, I don't mind that but sometimes I would like to switch and do other things. The most enjoyable part was that I got along with many of the people working there, i was able to chat with many of the elderly working there and got to know them a bit.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great people with great personalities, customer’s service is top notch as customer’s satisfaction is put first and interpersonal relationships is excellent, good recognition and appreciation is given to volunteers also.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I do not see any part of the company that is stressful because the staffs and management makes the environment lively and enjoyable for work. I enjoyed every department I worked with.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is conducive and work culture is flexible and friendly 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dutiful, fun and enjoyable. The shift run makes the work not tiring.

The challenge of the day is the ability to work with all types of persons whether it be volunteer or customers. We work with unpaid staff and donated goods. Not knowing the daily intake of items and sometimes number of staff, shows how flexible one needs to be.

Worked as a cashier and was trained in multi departments.  Enjoyed working with customers and and most of the volunteers. Management was very disorganized and were unable to stick with a plan. Lots of saying you matter when yu don’t really because they value volunteers and themselves more than paid employees. Felt less respected as time went by. 

Most jobs are simple and can be handled well after only a short amount of training. Other employees have been overwhelmingly kind and I would definitely recommend it as a good weekend activity for students.

This is a charitable business that maintains a peaceful workplace and clean storefront. They hold respect for their customers and donors as one of their most cherished values. It was a pleasure volunteering for them. I was made well aware of their appreciation for my contribution to the team.

A typical day would involve pricing of donated items based on its wear and tear, fashion trends, or working condition of electronic appliances, furniture, toys, decorative items, books and clothes.
Frequent drinks and Cookies breaks are provided

Bibles for Missions was a fast paced place to work.  The people I worked with were friendly.  I had to deal with customer issues sometimes, but mostly I was a stocker/sorter of products.  It was only every other Saturday and was a temporary position.

i volunteered at bibles for missions. this was not a full time/ part time job, but merely for learning, acts of kindness and fun. the management has improved so much since i have volunteered.
