I am guess most of the negative reviews were left by previously fired toxic employees. I have been with the company for about 2 years and recently moved up to a JR supervisor level. If you work hard and complete training for the different auxiliary software's they use, its easy to earn more money. Other people write about software issues, but that's rarely the case. I see lots of operators only care to learn the basics and put in as little effort as possible.  I have steady shifts and reliable hours. The culture is better then people write about. They regularly reward great work, have have a bounty system for incidents reported. The culture is what you make of it, most of the people on my shift are great people from all walks of life. Management fairly regularly orders in food for the shift or drops off donuts, other things like that to help pass the time. We did have a couple toxic supervisors but they were all let go or quit when demoted. 



I was hired some months ago and was poorly trained only to have the staff supervisor go off on some tangent and complain to other staff about other staff there, from technicians to managers and IT.  They tell you one thing and expect another, surveillance staff play head games, when they are way to relaxed and unfocused at the job at hand, and have subsequently have been having a lot of misses, when they shouldn't have auto check new alarms on, that's the easiest way to have a major miss, meaning crime happens and no one catches it. I worked for them and was let go because I couldn't keep my alarm count under 50 at times which is near impossible due to understaffing and double the amount of sites I was given to watch over. I checked every alarm I had just because i didnt want to have a miss, I thought I was being thorough, I never had a miss and had made 2 bust in my first 3 months back, but that still wasn't good enough.

I was a long term employee when I was originally hired, it was a small company with great family atmosphere. 
As bil grew it started to become more and more toxic and unstructured. The work load grew 15x in about a year without the technology and man power to sustain it. The work load was unmanageable. Management blamed the monitors for missing things when the software would freeze. The supervisors were demoted to leads and the younger "leads" were told to work harder and prove themselves for the supervisor title. 

This place was an excellent job and has since tanked in the last 6 years. Save yourself the trouble and work else where for minimum wage. 

I had high hopes for working at BIL after my interviews. I have over 10 years of experience as a technician. They have specific products that they use that I'm unfamiliar with and they didn't want to take any time to train me.

The culture is very harsh and the company is surprisingly disorganized for the contracts they get. In the end I was let go even after offering to train on my own time or pay for my own training. 

I would not recommend applying for a technician position

The management team has been great to work with so far. The workplace culture I see in other reviews is not what I have seen so far. It has been a great work environment.  Like any business, there are strains at times with company growth which looked to be the case here, but I have experienced far worse. Workstations are comfortable, decent chairs.

The job, it is not a great challenge typically. There are methods to improve performance and appear more or less effective. Workplace is relaxed mostly except when management is in a poor mood. Recently was hired an ineffective supervisor incapable of completing the role. Pay is of a pathetic nature and ill fit for the tasks required. Releasing employees happens frequently. Moments of pleasantness occur from time to time, interesting things do occur on camera. Happy to move on after a time.

Great place to work, its unfortunate that former employees leave salty reviews painting an inaccurate work environment. Once you complete the basic training, its easy to move up within the different levels; you just need to apply your self to take the additional training modules online. There is a performance program where operators can earn gift cards and I routinely earn $100-$150 in gift cards every month. It is what you make of it.

Overall is good, you get what you were promised.

Checking the sites, and be on the lookout on the alarms

The office is out of the city and remote.
The company rejects you if you have no means of getting to their office with your own vehicle for an interview. I recommend you look for work at a proven company with a real track record that cares. They don’t seem interested in their candidates or what they have to offer. They also don’t provide details of what is involved in working at their job sites. They have no real reputation in the industry already.

This job can be fun sometimes. On slower days you can talk with coworkers and listen to music. On busy days (almost everyday) you handle the work load of 3 people. And if you miss one important alarm you can expect to be fired. You don’t need any qualifications to have this job so your coworkers can be uneducated and rude.
