After years of working at BMP Mechanical and seeing people come and go in various positions, this company has really found its stride.  The company environment is always friendly, and the corporate culture has become one of supporting one another and helping out where you can, as opposed to my experience with previous employers and employees where fighting / jockeying for position, and oppression from the top down was normal.  I think growing pains were definitely part of the process and a few hiccups and bumps along the way, but I am proud of what we have built and become. I appreciate the feeling that my family comes first, before all else, and that my opinions are respected and valued from management and fellow co-workers.  I don't feel that I work FOR a company, and anyone works FOR me, but we do all work WITH each other equally to achieve the best result for our customers and clients. I have seen other, not so pleasant, former employee reviews and honestly can say that although there were rough times at points, I have seen the attitude and culture change happen from within the company from the owner, all the way to the delivery drivers and I personally feel very content and excited to see the direction of this company on the way to the top.

I can't believe this company is still in business, I really can't. By far (not a little) the worst mechanical company in Canada. I can't stress enough how toxic this place is, it really is pathetic. If you are a potential client, you should run as fast as you can in any direction. The good reviews you see on here are most likely friends or family members, they are not real I can assure you. I have never worked with tradesmen who hated a company more than here, as a result the quality of the work suffers, as well as the client. I mean the company should book cat scans for all management personnel, because this bunch of clowns needs to get back to reality quick

What is the best part of working at the company?
Service manager is great. Coworkers and I really feel appreciated! Service department has high levels of cooperation.

Some times the workload can feel intense. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is pretty good. Some conflict in the office. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Some times relaxed, some days rushed.

BMP was good to me, showed up every day for my job and still had one at the end of each day. Watched a lot of self centered trades people walk out the doors in fits of rage, and me, I kept doing my work, and kept getting my above average pay in sheet metal. All while taking on my apprentice ship. Currently I'm running my own sites with a similar type of company but when I see the BMP for hire I'm always itching to return to work for them.

Owner is very abrasive and very rude, not professional at all. Upper management is very disorganized and not very knowledgeable.  Complain if you take any vacation time off. Their service vans are hardly road worthy and not very safe to drive as they are not well kept and old. Pay is not equal and fair based on experience.  Would definitley not recommend this company if you want a good work environment and decent pay.

I did not enjoy my time there it was a poor experience

Lack of work unrealistic expectations.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic work environment poor management.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Waiting at the office for work to be given out.
