BRADFORD GREENHOUSES

My month working at Bradford Greenhouses was truly awful, and honestly, it exposed some seriously messed-up stuff about how they treat their employees and run the place. Management was just plain rude to staff, all the time. It was night and day compared to how fake-nice they were to customers. They demanded crazy high productivity, pushing us constantly, which made for an incredibly stressful, and often hostile, work environment. There was constant snitching and micromanaging among co-workers, where some would constantly monitor and report on others' for things that didn't affect them. Management didn't just let it happen, they practically encouraged it. It totally killed any trust and turned everyone against each other. It was obvious they played favourites too.  As long as customers are happy with you and sucked up to the managers, you were golden. My hours, and everyone else's, were slashed brutally and without warning. They'd send us home early or just lay us off the second business slowed down, leaving us high and dry financially. Layoffs started a month into the season, despite us being told during our interview, it was for the summer. Bradford Greenhouses has a cold, nasty workplace culture where employees are treated like they're disposable. It absolutely crushed morale and made working there a miserable experience.

All I learnt was names of different plants. The workplace culture sucks. Management are all on a power trip, and make you feel belittled majority of the time. They start laying people off in June although they just tell you that the hours will drop in the interview. They've laid off countless university students, who are now stuck with no job and no idea how they will be able to pay rent/tuition in the fall. They expect you to be on the floor WORKING 15 minutes before your shift starts which I find extremely stupid, why not just schedule the shift then? I will never work there ever again and honestly will tell everyone how much of a waste of time it is. Your better off working literally anywhere else.

Great for younger kids in high-school or retired folks! If you are looking to make anything above $20/ hr though, this may be tough. 
Great workers and environment, they always help you with anything you need and are kind. Everyone is in a good mood, no drama or judgement. My single and only con would be the pay! And possibly that your schedule is different week to week, so you never know your availability until Sunday.
Good experience if you are looking to learn more about plants. You will learn lots. Management are all good people. You are not shamed for making mistakes.

All of the training is online and not in person so it is very confusing and overwhelming in the beginning and hard on the body. They do not train you on how to do things safely or properly so there is a lot of learning on the go. I was told the job was seasonal which I took to believe meant Spring and Summer but I was laid off after only working there 1 month. The staff you work with is nice but I did not meet any managers the short time I was there. This is a good job if you are semi retired or looking for gig work. 

Working at Bradford Greenhouses was a good experience. There was always work to do. The only problem I had with Bradford Greenhouses, is I never really knew exactly what I was to do. I enjoy direction and routine, it was very confusing some days. 
Overall review I guess its an alright place to work.

Working at the greenhouse was a great experience, I learned so much about plants that I didn’t already know and made a bunch of new friends. Being a greenhouse, it gets really hot in there. I would go home every day completely covered in sweat. It was not good for my health so I had to quit.

i would not recommend this company to anyone based on the experience i had there as a woman in a supervisory role. the health and safety of the employees is not taken into consideration and there is no work life balance. 

I loved working here. Unfortunately, I did quit for personal reasons. I would have loved to continue working at the greenhouses as it was a fun job. There was a positive, happy culture and management was always friendly!

Stressful environment to work, management was not the greatest, they were understanding and under staffed so the work load was expected of you for the pay was not worth it.

Family owned bussiness run out of bradford ontario. Dealing in a wide variety of plants and trees. Friendly staff as well as owners and management. A enjoyable place to work.
