As I said above, the work culture was impeccable, everyone on the floor was easy to get along with and the work was straightforward. A huge fault in my opinion was the margin of human error; it was very apparent. Lots of manual paperwork and the system they had there was a little dated, I came from a workplace that had a really  advanced technical system. The system at Brimich allowed loads of inventory count back issues that sometimes went days or even weeks without being corrected, leaving tons of work to a lead hand or inventory specialist when it was finally assessed. Ultimately leading to headaches for you, your leaders and the client. Brimich is also a small company that has to flex to a lot of shortcomings from the suppliers, for example label issues being stuck to incorrect pallets. Along with incoming trailers coming in with literal trash and stray pallets. For a long time attendance seemed like it wasn’t necessary, which caused tension at times between employees and management. It has seemingly been corrected though. All in all it’s a great place to work, and you’ll like it if you get selected 

Brimich employs a lot of great people. But the problem with the company lies within its structure, management and lack of accountability. There is a lot of buck passing on the part of the higher ups, mostly in relation to the neverending inventory control problems that plague your day to day routine. You will be blamed for things completely out of your control, such as missing and damaged products, and no matter what you recommend to fix the problem, your suggestions will fall on deaf ears; they simply do not want to hear your opinion. You are a peasant and a grunt who knows nothing, and they want you in your powerless and expendable place at all times. It is a company where snobbery and poor communication abounds, as does favouritism and nepotism. Do not let them con you: there is absolutely no job security with this company; the turnover rate is appauling and people are fired for the most trivial of offenses with little to no progressive discipline. Look elsewhere. 

They hire people and then start sending them home early cause there is no work. The very next day they expect the same people to do OT when they fall behind on work. They don't give proper training on their equipment and then play the blame game / fire people for incidents. There is no organization, everyone just passes the work around to someone else. They ask one person to handle multiple people's duties cause so many people are either quitting or getting fired.  Pay is very low for the amount of work they expect to be done.

You can work independently and the pay is good. They are easy to work with and will accommodate for anything you need.   

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They expect the employees to just figure out the job. Very unorganized inventory. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Many people are against each other and many heads butt can make for a negative zibe.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Steady workload makes the day go quickly.

They promise you two weeks of training and barely give you one.  They tell you they will train you but they never do because they are worried about their own jobs and want to keep all the information to themselves. You go to head office and hear about all the standards they have in place and then you go to your location to work and the people are completely unprofessional acting like children.  The job was very boring and the management wasn't nice. Don't waste your time here.

I worked here for a couple months. I was brought in as a Lumper and later ended up standing around stickering skids, as they hired a lumping company a few weeks after I was hired. The job was severely boring, and they had one worker that made the place the most toxic I’ve ever worked at.

As a lumper we would build skids from the trailer, and next day had to rebuild them as they were built wrong to begin with. Completely unorganized !!! The constant cycle of rework…

There is nothing good I can say about this company.  The senior management is a joke and  middle management is even worse.  The only people that advance  are friends or family members.  They expect you to do the work of 3-4 people for very low pay and then don't get your pay right most of the time.  The benefits are constantly being reduced and HR doesn't tell you. They don't treat you with respect, which is what they say you must do to other workers.  Very Toxic!  My advice is STAY AWAY!!! 

Pay is below what other similar companies pay.  Supervisors play favourites with the employees. The favourites get the best assignments, Bad habits get overlooked ( people blowing through Stop signs and aren't disciplined) and morale is generally low with the lesser favoured employees.  They like to preach safety but don't follow through on it. Only positive is some coworkers are great people. Do not recommend.

Great overall company  just needs some Sr leadership when dealing with people. 

Toronto location is an exemplary model of what management should look like.

Hired, worked for a week (training) and worked hard and was nice to everyone. 

Was fired when I got home cuz the cowards couldn't do it in person. Was told I had a bad attitude and was lazy. I was told this while sore. 

Don't bother with this place. They only keep on lazy brown dudes who stand around and talk. Completely unprofessional and unfounded termination. Absolute scum.
