BURTON MANOR

The most enjoyable part during my time at Burton Manor was spending one on one time with the residents. 

A typical day for me at Burton Manor would be assisting listed Residents on the nursing rehab program. ( feeding,walking)

Gathering residents interested in attending various activities/events

Always ask residents if they need assistance for anything, they may not verbally ask for it. 

The staff at Burton Manor for the most part are helpful and friendly.

The most challenging part during my time at Burton Manor was trying to help residents who could not speak English.

Building rapport with residents is important and also helpful during one on one time and treatment

You'll learn when the best time is for getting a resident to do some walking is best, also once you are comfortable with the environment redirecting will become much easier.

I had been working with burton manor at the beginning of the pandemic and the way things went were pretty bad, the recreation manager had used me just for the pandemic but she had led me on by saying I was going to be getting permanent shifts and she didn’t help me at all while I have a developmental disability and had absolutely no training whatsoever because I went from one job to another home within 2 days and then she put me on the floor. I absolutely hated the fact that the recreation manager didn’t even help train me and if I had made a mistake she would not help me fix it, the only thing I enjoyed was the residents 

I learned how to provide excellent resident service in particular by offering assistance to elderly residence.
My coworkers work as a good team in their various assigned duties.
The hardest part of the job is taking care of those in the dementia unit which is quite an experience but a challenging one.
The management is well organised and each knows whom to report to at each particular time.
I enjoy taking care of the residents

Help residents with feeding, instruct the fitness classes. Management, co-workers are good to work with. Hardest part of this job is seeing residents lose some of their function over time. Most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with the patients on a daily biases.

Great place to work. Employees opinions are valued. Leaders work along side you and care. They want to do what is right and not just do what has been done for 20 years because that is the way it is. Burton manor is my clinical placement.I took three months training from Burton manor such as lifting,how to solve the problems,how to take- care of seniors and to save our time and much more.

I learned to help different people with mental problems and have fun working with them,doing actives with the people and enjoy with them.I did learn to help the people with everyday helping them live the best they could do.

your job is not only to assist client in their daily tasks but also to care them as your own family then you can better understand them !

It's a very fun and entertaining job, you never get bored and there's always something going on. The workload is very smooth so there's not a lot of stress. Other employs are very nice too.
