Bakker Tailored Staffing

As others reviewers highlighted, this is a review for Bakker, not for the end client for which I was assigned to. 

My experience with Bakker is one of the best experiences I ever had with a staffing agency in the GTA. On the current job hunting landscape (COVID-19), it is very rare to find a company that is as professional and responsive as Bakker, and that supports candidates during the entire interviewing stage, hiring process, and beyond. I was somewhat wary during my first call due to my previous experiences with recruiting agencies (the usual ghosting, delays during the call, recruiters not having any idea why they were calling you, upselling you the position, etc.). These doubts went away the moment I got contacted by them. It was a pleasure interviewing with Bakker, and their response was very professional, while returning every call / email extremely quickly. I interviewed with them for an engineering role, and all interviewing as well as onboarding was done virtually, with zero hiccups along the way.

They work with some big clients in the GTA, and their assignments with the end client are very clearly defined, with a seamless interface between Bakker and the client. All in all, I recommend them 100%!


I joined GM through Bakker.
GM definitely a great company to work, but this review is all about Bakker.
Pay is great, they have offered me 20K more than I ask. I mean they had room under pay me.
Response from Bakker team regarding any doubts or queries are spontaneous. 
People are nice and helpful.
I asked for service letter/ reference letter for my Canadian Immigration, it just took 15 mnts to get it.
You have some doubt on tax, paystub, deduction, email them and get a reply within 30 mnts. They even reply on midnight and weekends. Once I had to tell them, you don't have to work for me on weekends.
They will send you Christmas Cards, that's very nice and adorable. A $1 card make it feel like, there is someone out there for you.
My only concern is the medical insurance benefit, it is bit expensive as compared to other companies. Fact is, they pay 50% of insurance premium, I think its not a group policy.
I believe Bakker will soon come with better group policy.
I know people work in GM with other agencies, where they have to constantly check the pays stubs to make sure that they are not loosing money, but Bakker everything good, from November 2019 to today March 2020.

I was hired for GM as a contractor through Bakker. Bakker employees always replied the emails on time (sometimes off work hours that was also nice) with possible solutions. I did not have a single problem during my interactions. They were always willing to help for the problems/questions/concerns I've had. The only issue I think was the extended health benefits that the deductions are on high side even Bakker pays 50% of it and the benefits start after 3 months of employment (once you have short term contract, it does not help that much). Overall, I had a very good experience with them. 

- Job involved managing a lab and assisting engineers with innovative solutions and designs to accommodate their needs
- Learned how engineering processes worked, got involved with multiple teams. Projects were dynamic, work was new and changing rather than mundane and the same.
- Management was hands-off, allowing you to focus on your job rather than deal with admin work
- Culture was a highlight, very welcoming. If any help was needed, people were present to help.
- Difficulty can arise with job security, as it is separate from management.
- Pay negotiations/increase will depend heavily on your own proactiveness. 

Working at Bakker Technical Services has been great for me!  Although it is a young company it is growing fast and has already developed a strong culture which fits great with my values.  Hard work, honesty, creativity and freedom to trying new things, work/life balance for today's busy lifestyles and most importantly a highly ethical business model which is focused on serving thier clients needs.

My experiences over the last nine years, working for clients assigned to me by  Bakker Tailored Staffing have all been very positive.
The BTS management and staff team were always very enabling and supportive throughout the course  various tenures as a contract mfg. engineer.

My experience with Bakker is one of the best experiences I ever had with a staffing agency in the GTA. They gave me the best job in my field. They're hiring process is very practical and professional. Any questions I had they always clarifed it. Also, they give you new opportunities as well. 

I worked through them in one of their clients for about a year contract, the deal was very good and the company I worked for was good enough, not too much strict for office staff, I was working with very smart and helpful engineering manager, and top management were very cooperative.

As a sub-contractor they kept you informed of all the changes that will affect your contract. The management team were very helpful in identifying and resolving issues with my submitted invoices. They kept in touch on a weekly basis so that any issues that arise are dealt with expeditiously.

I had a good experience working for Bakker, always got support when I needed it, never had to deal with micro management and my salary was fair.
The only down is the fact that there are not full benefits but many contractors don't have them either so it is not that bad.
