Every day was different on the 3 different construction project sites. Many typical days presented many challenges, but my team was able to meet and often exceed the expectations when they did. 
Orientation - met with new hires, explained processing, reviewed their paperwork, entered their information into EBI system, red-flagged "problems", advised their contractor of problems, processed work badge, arranged/scheduled rooms for all training (9), composed disciplinary letters for LR Manager and sent to Unions, revoked work passes for suspended employees, set up meetings and dealt with all contractors Health & Safety teams and their LR department managers. Supervised 2+ staff - often challenging in small space. Most enjoyable part of job was learning the process and improving it over time. Once it was organized it ran much easier.
Travel - Booked flights, set up time for travel to & from airport to align with those flights, changed/cancelled flights, kept track of credits, used credits when booking, Kept database to track all CMT flights - dates, times, changes in travel. Alerted all ground and room coordinators of the changes. Developed the tracking system with the programmer to look after all that information making the job so much simpler. Training assistants was challenging but once successful, they performed productively.
Workforce - met with new hires, provided payroll and orientation paperwork, reviewed same for errors/omissions, provided orientation when required, entered payroll information when required, set up training, scheduled training, reserved training rooms, ensured training materials were accessible, ordered new hire PPE & distributed it daily, tracked all training in database, advised supervision on required training for employees, 
While each of the these jobs was on a different worksite, the Labour Relations team was very focused and each day presented challenges.  I quickly learned how to make decisions affecting my division within the LR in a methodical manner, learned from mistakes and formed immediate resolutions for any subsequent issues that might follow. 
Being a part of the management team was very rewarding and accountability was naturally assumed.  Any issues were swiftly dealt with and lessons were considered experience. 
The hardest part of these projects was the life away from home for many people.  I adjusted well over time. 
One of the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people from all over the world, sharing their experiences and seeing places through their eyes. 
The most rewarding part of these jobs was taking on a position that required a lot of organization and creative juggling to make them work smoothly.

- I have been involved in upgrader Voyageur project (Suncor co.)
- Preparing specification designs and drawings of industrial mechanical equipments.
- Designed pipe support according to stress engineer data.
- Carried out design and drafting of piping/mechanical plant models using Project Specifications and Procedures.
- Conducting discipline design, stress, material, fabrication and construction specifications/criteria.
- 3D Design equipment and piping layouts using AutoPlant software.
- Check piping plan and isometric drawings and remodel all required changes and re-extract ISO in new revision for construction.
- Perform P&ID’s and LDT’s, Piping Engineering Specifications and Line Classifications, and Equipment Data Sheets or Vendor Drawings.
- Ensure compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable plant operation, construction economy, and maintenance/operating convenience
- Review and check design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers or drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion for a reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy Assist in the coordination of overall plant space utilization across all disciplines.
- Perform squad checking of vendor and other disciplines’ drawings.
- Extract 3D model drawings as required, or generate detailed or standard drawings as required.

Not happy experience at Bantrel Calgary office. The position was advertised as a longer position but I was there for only 4 months. The engineer before me was there less than 2 months and I later learnt that I was a replacement because he left. This was not discussed during interview process. Work hours is not full time and varies week to week and on average is less than 25 hours a week. Full time hours given to favourites. I was hired as a Senior Heat Transfer Engineer and a Professional Engineer in two Canadian provinces and two US states but paid much lower than others. 

Working at Bantrel was not good financially or for my mental health. If you are not getting paid hourly rate in the three digits you are being low balled .

Typical work for EPC. Size equipment, prepare data sheets and technical documents.  Hardest part of the is lack of hours and sitting at home doing nothing. Waiting for Bantrel to assign you work. 

I not recommend Bantrel. Better to work other companies in canada or move to USA or middle east.

Starts with a good attitude and fit for work. Meet up with the leadership of the contractor I am responsible for and see there work scope for the day , talk with there Forman's and make sure all are on the same page . 
give reports to my own mangers and stay on top work scope for the next week, to be in the field talk with the workers, hears them and make moral is up  and always make sure work is being carried out in a good manner and safely.
At times making sure that my mangers are on board with me and I with them , the use of three way communication and being in the loop with all decisions being made . 
For me is being with the workers , knowing them and working with them, for them to know that there concerns are being heard and dealt with. 
I love my job ,it is busy at times, but I find it so  rewarding.

I have over eight years Canadian solid work experience as a structural designer/ drafter in oil and gas, industrial field, residential (both roof and floor trusses), commercial and institutional projects, etc.  I also have more than 15 years of work experience as an Architect in China.

I have been responsible for all the architectural/structural design, layout, and 3D modeling, and I have attended review meetings and coordinated other disciplines, providing exceptional client service and developing technical expertise to deliver practical, creative solutions.

I enjoy working in a team and I am capable of working independently.  I have excellent organizational skills needed to work on a variety of projects.  I am very knowledgeable in the use 2D platform (AutoCAD, Revit,  MicroStation) and 3D module software (ProStructure and Civil 3D).

i like work with this company, give me a lots of fun and good memory.

Some great folks work(ed) here. The pay is excellent and high standards of professional practice were maintained through a well-developed and implemented quality assurance/control program.

However, a few suggestions in the interest of continuous improvement:
- The need to diversify the business beyond the existing oil and gas client base is clear, and yet executive have failed to expand the EPC offerings into less volatile sectors and the growing clean tech space. This is a root cause of current hardships, even more so than the pandemic.
- The business model is to make layoffs first, and ask questions later.  This demonstrates a lack of ability by management to effectively leverage human capital assets towards productive work and business development. 
- Employee health and stress ought to be better overseen; some folks work far too many hours to be healthy. 

A typical day involved updating databases, onboarding new hires, booking travel and submitting travel expenses for managers and employees.
I was constantly learning new procedures and documentation skills. As well as different aspects of the oil and gas industry that affected our business.
My managers were very respectful of all their employees and willing to help any staff in whatever manner was needed to do their job in the best manner possible. 
My coworkers were able to help me understand their jobs so I could assist them as needed. Just as I explained and used my skill set to assist them.
The hardest part of the job was not being as knowledgeable in the field as I would have liked. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was my coworkers and being able to assist them in various different ways. They never let me feel stupid or unappreciated for things I didn't know. We all complimented each other very well.

Bantrel was a fun active place to work. From working at Home Engineering office to Supervising Sub-contractors at multiple Fabrication Facilities across the country as well as on various Construction sites. Ensuring all aspects of the construction phase were done as per the Engineering design drawing as well as per the Client specifications and the applicable regulatory codes.
Trouble-shoot and make changes within applicable codes, engineering design and client specification with approvals to move the projects forward to maintain schedule. Doing final walk-downs to ensure acceptability to engineering and client. Maintain contact between Engineering houses and Construction contractors as well as Client. Answer all pertinent Question that may arise in Management meetings.

I transitioned from temporary to full-time status after 6 months of employment with Bantrel.  I was the Administrative Assistant to a Project Manager for 3 major projects. A typical day at work consisted of reviewing Manager's requirements for the day, word processing, calendar management, travel arrangements, meeting arrangements (including venue, catering and travel as necessary).  I also assisted with space planning and compliance with safety and fire regulations.  With few exceptions I found my co-workers to be very supportive and available for questions or assistance as required.  The most enjoyable part of my job was the Project Manager for whom I worked.

A typical day at work is interacting with various Managers, Leads and employees on day to day issues. I absolutely enjoy working with this company. The management is great and very supportive. The co-workers are very professional, respectful and fantastic to deal with. The hardest part of the job is actually none. I love what I do, I work for a very friendly and healthy environment and despite of long hours I look forward to going to work everyday. The most enjoyable part of the job is the people I work with everyday. When I help them with their day to day issues and they appreciate all my efforts and recognize and value my opinions it bring a smile to my face.
