I have a lot of responsibility and am the first person to arrive at the plant everyday and must ensure everything is in good working order and started up for the day. My day usually goes pretty quick as I have many duties and they keep me busy all day long. I also am the international driver and this takes me away from the plant 1 to 2 days a week which I like as it breaks up my duties and find this more appealing as I like a challenge and to keep as busy as possible.

Barbican Architectural Company offers exposure to smaller-scale projects; however, opportunities for professional growth are quite limited. The work tends to be repetitive, and most projects are managed directly by the owner, which can restrict autonomy and development. The company’s ERP systems are complex and lack adequate training support, making adaptation challenging. Compensation is below industry standards, and the company’s remote location near the U.S. border can make long-term employment and work-life balance difficult to maintain.

What a terrible experience. Very frustrating dealing with Management.  VP of Operations (HD), is degrading and his management style is ineffective and results in low morale with the staff. He does NOT welcome any suggestions for small improvements. His way only. And his way makes for a tense atmosphere. It baffles me that he convinced his superiors that he was a good fit. 
This place needs some serious restructuring to become a pleasant and profitable place to be employeed. 

Loved my time at Barbican. The people are ok, very busy for the most part.I worked in the router room, thee best place to work in Barbican,Pay is ok...Head bosses are great. I learned a lot working at Barbican. how to run router tables and milling in the machine shop. how to operate a tow motor. Learned Emergency first aid with CPR+ AED in a course with them.Every day was enjoyable for me, because i loved my job.

I overall am very happy with my job here, there are consistent hours and weekends off which are a huge plus. Management is very understanding if I need time off. I like the people I work with as it feels like a family where we have one another's backs. 
There have been several structural changes within the company that I feel are moving things in a positive direction. My main gripe is that I wish things were more organized.

Low paying and haphazardly managed with no opportunity for advancement. Plant/assembly workers treated like they are expendable. Production manager who yells at staff for speaking to each other before finding out they are discussing a work issue.

Unfortunately, the plant manager/VP of Operations feels the need to raise his voice to staff members when he feels his authority is threatened in any way. He does not believe that employees are capable of performing their tasks without his direct supervision or input. He is really not a good manager is responsible a majority of the stress in the work environment.

Working at Barbican was like a big family. They treated us with BBQ's, bowling and hockey games. The only downfall was it is based in Fort Erie. I really enjoyed being able to design products and occasionally build our own designs in assembly as well so we could learn our mistakes.  It is a great learning environment with helpful staff.

An opportunity for entry level professionals to get their foot in the door, lots of learning opportunity is present in a small business due to having to wear multiple hats, however not ideal for long - term career growth prospects.
