Baycrest Hospital is usually very busy, the health care professionals are always focused on their clients, giving the best care to their clients. Being at Baycrest Hospital, I have learnt that, to ensure standard of care is adhered to. Clients must be comfortable, dignified and must be treated with the utmost respect. The health care professionals, must be compassionate and they show empathy to the clients. Management is very aware of their overall staff and their clients.  Bay crest Hospital contains a very diverse staff. The staff are very family-oriented and they're all treated the same. There are policies and procedures that all workers must adhere to. The hardest part of the job is when you go into work and to find out that one of the client is no longer there. That is just devastating. To extend and prolonged life is one of the hospital and staff main focus. Going to work each day to see the clients and giving them the best care possible is extremely rewarding, fulfilling and enjoyable. It was a pleasure working at Baycrest Hospital. I have met so many different people with different stories to tell.

My day is about the overall safety of members and residents who enter the therapy pool facility, pool chem checks are done at opening and every two hours there after, emergency alarm pull is done upon opening and checklist completed such as emergency phone check, walk around etc...I learned a lot about different conditions seniors face and how to manage and supervise those who cannot see, hear and understand as well as they used to. My co-workers are great, very personable and cooperative, they assist me and I always return the favor. The hardest part of the job is getting patrons in and out of the pool with the pool lift, but I have become excellent at it and the most enjoyable part is when I hear adventures from the past and how things used to be compared to now.

Baycrest did not demonstrate an environment where they care for new employees. They did not provide training for their new technology, they expected you to learn on the Fly, they did help on occasion, but it was mostly for your open tickets. They had a chat system, but they usually did not answer until 20 minutes later and if it was an urgent issue you had to walk up to them. The Manager did not give feedback and seemed as if he did not care if you were there for the long term. I learned about dealing with Virus' connecting there applications to the network and a few of there Technology, but little else. TYhe only enjoyable part of the day was Lunch when you got to get away from the work and talk to people outside the department.

It was the work culture that turned me off. I noticed it during my first week of work but stayed on and gave it a chance. Superiors shouting at new hires. Superiors favor and turn a blind eye to employees' wrongdoings because they are friends. Employees were speaking ill of co-workers. Worst was the disrespect to patients and their relatives, ranting about them. One co-worker even told a patient, "I am paid to listen to you." It's truly sad. Maybe some employees forget that they have a job in the hospital because of patients. It is a hospital, after all. Perhaps they should be reminded of what Baycrest stands for.

Great opportunities to collaborate with various departments. Lots of small departments within the larger organization do not provide many opportunities for career growth. However, there is a strong sense of working towards a larger goal and management does a really good job of ensuring everyone is included in that mission/vision. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management are very good to the team members of healthcare. OHEC are very accommodating in safety and security protocols for all employees. 
Nurse Manager in 7EI Apotex  LTC are very helpful and supportive in their work place ensuring that the staff members are treated well and the team members feel valued.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If we are shorts of staff.  Someone call in the weekend and then we can’t able to find replacement for the worker to replace. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Nights shift are best for me.

a typical day at CCC is busy and heavy and you have to know how to manage your time and perform multitasking at the same time.
Working at Baycrest Hospital has gained me tons of nursing skills.
My co workers are very supportive in teaching/sharing what they know in terms of emergency situation or trouble shooting someones g-tube or trach.
There are days when you are slightly unable to manage your time in giving care but it is never the hardest since you have co workers who always are ready to lend a hand.  I enjoy the most when I learn something new each time I'm at work.

I worked day shift as a Nurse in Charge, busy everyday. Warm, loving and safe environment to work Good management. Clean place. The hardest part of the job is short staff and sometimes I have to work overtime or I have to help the PSW and do their work. The hardest part also is the complain of the family member If they have a complain about the care of their mother/father and their demands. The most enjoyable part of the job is when I see my team and my patients smiling and happy.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff is like a family! Everyone get along so well, very kind and helpful.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I didn’t find my experience at baycrest stressful at all. I actually looked forward to going.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s a very diverse environment but very functional.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s like any other long term care home. I worked in the Apotex.
