I enjoy working there. The night shift is ten hours 4-2am mon-Thurs with overtime most Friday's. So no matter what you always get Saturday Sunday off.  You get benefits at 6months which are great in comparison to other places that start you at minimum wage. They even pay you back up to 80$ for your work shoes. Monthly paid for lunches that are extended 15mins. The new supervisor is a bit full of himself and I've barely met the office staff. They only have xmas party for management and they never listen to our health and safety recommendations or at least don't do anything about them. Over all great  place to work tho. Team members are helpful and I like that we rotate within our line every quarter. Also for the most part you aren't stuck doing the same thing everyday.

I worked there for nearly 5 years but I just recently quit because it became a horrible place to work.  You start out at minimum wage and do not get regular raises despite what you may read elsewhere.  I worked afternoons on what they called the production side.  To say that the supervisor is full of himself is an understatement.  He walks around like he owns the place and can't stop talking about how much money he makes, how the plant manager "loves him" and he likes to threaten people just to show how superior he is to everyone else.  The other side is called sheeting and the people there tend to stay longer probably because the supervisor seems to be well liked by the people on that side of the operation.  I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to be treated well and make decent money.

A typical day at work for me would be to go in and every 1/4 of my shift i would have my job switched. We work on line machines so a good team setting is needed or everyone will be messed up when it comes to working on that line. I package boxes and carry them weighing up to 50lbs and stack them accordingly. We use exacto-knives and various line machines throughout the evening. Management is okay, although they seem to not always know what they are doing.
The hardest part about my job would have to be the fact that they promise me hours and work and i don't always get it, so i'm shorted my hours. It seems unfair seeing as they continue to hire new people.
the most enjoyable part about my job would have to be the groups we work in when we're on the line machines.

I currently work at Baywood Paper. Great place to work staff is great, one of the better company's in Barrie to work for. Benifits are good, raises do happen often if you work hard.Supervisors are great and helpful on both shifts.
I worked both shifts and have always felt my issues where always important and looked after.
Some mixed reviews on here but to each there own.
I like it and would recommend to anyone that likes to feel they worked hard and earned there paychecks.
Afternoon shift is awesome , co workers are helpfull , and the supervisor now is a motivation for most.
Day shift is just as awesome and supervisors some new and some old are just as motivating.

I'm a part time student, could use more hours.
I like Baywood Paper.
Day supervisor seems mean, always angry.
Afternoon supervisor is the hardest worker I see there helps everyone or does everyone's job.
Free lunches monthly but I normally miss them.
Hot in the summer, freezing in the winter.
Can't wear any hoodies or jewelry which I find odd.
Some employees seem to be mean to Indian workers so be careful if your culture is different.
But I like it and have no problems with anyone.
Work is sometimes hard, feels like you don't get a break much.

Management was always stressful while on the job. The night supervisor always tried to get into your personal life. He would stare awkwardly and make work uncomfortable. He has zero training and education so maybe that’s why. Day supervisor was alright, he made sure you knew what you were doing when you arrived.
In the summer it is ridiculously hot and not worth the $14 an hour.
Once a month you get a free hot dog or slice of pizza after a safety meeting

liked Baywood paper very much I worked doing the line packing boxes sometimes it could get real busy but overall everyone was a great team when I was there and they treated us good they would even supply freezies and drinks on the factory on those real hot summer days and it was probably one of the best factory work experiences I've had I would work there again

Management, don't seem to care, no effort to get to know the people.
Supervisor's, there the generals, got the respect, but still take there orders.
People, some good some bad, typical factory.
I quit cause I needed to advance, and really!! 20 years to achieve 4 weeks vacation!!!
They hand out certified this and that like its candy, take it and use it somewheres else.
Pros, monthly lunches. 
Con's, summer is torture in there.

I found it kept clean tidy well organized and comfortable packaging no package over 50lbs,paper is cut according to customers order size comes in 500lb role cut into sheets then cut again in a square cutter then taken to a binder machine and then through another square cutter for last trimming then boxed and skidded for shipping till order is finished.
