All the good workers are overworked, underpaid and annoyed with management, while the lazy old men that have seniority ACT like everything’s great because they can sit around bsing with their buddies without repercussions.

Management treats you like you’re worthless, they’ll act like they’re listening but don’t care what you have to say.

No respect for the people who are actually producing the parts they sell, unless you’ve worked here for 10+ years, if that’s the case you can just wander the plant talking with

The only time you get noticed is if you mess up and cost them money, or lose production time. If you do either of those be ready to be written up, they’re quick for that. Otherwise you’re just a useless number(literally).

Benefits are a joke, no healthcare spending account, no mental health coverage, no more than $500 a year for things like massages or chiropractors. So if you need to see them, hope only 3-5 visits a year will suffice.

Overtime comes and goes, if you’re starting here don’t expect it unless the older guys just don’t feel like coming in that day.

Union members aren’t here to protect you, they’re here to get paid a little bit more than you and have more job security.

Half of the machines are decades old, and barely hanging on. Instead of replacing these things they will force maintenance to band-aid fix it the cheapest way possible until that no longer works.

Laziness is rewarded here if you know how to make yourself look busy while doing jack, this is the place for you!

They will not accomodate people who are struggling with personal things such as addictions. They will give you the run around, they will lie to you, very greasy when it comes to things like that, I know someone who got fired and when given the reason as to why this person missed work and was due to an addiction, the employee went to rehab did everything they asked and in the end they where never gonna rehire this person and just ran out the clock, found it interesting  that this person was of minority......the money can be good there, management is so so,day shift manager is great, evening shift manager is rude and not nice, usually good group of guys to work with, they will help you get through school and levels but they do give you the run around when it comes to that to, so if you can actually get ur levels do it and then leave the place and go on to better things

A typical day would be getting ready with proper ppe equipment, getting to a tool box meeting before shift starts. Then the supervisor tells us what station we are going to be working at and any other information we need to be aware of. Whatever station we were assigned to we would go and begin working, using computers to collect data, depending on the work station you would use the tools and training provided to complete the task.

Typical day @ work seems almost the same day in, day out!

Learned alot about machines, welding procedures, and productivity in 7 years employment.

Huge turn-over in the management department, maybe not for the best tho...

Excellent co-workers, get along great with pretty much everyone of them.

Scheduling and trying to keep employees happy with there assined duties.

The end of a safe and productive day!

it was actually a great experience working with Behlen industry, the company actually take the safety of staff seriously. we held a safety meeting every Monday morning and general safety monthly. The company also focus on the growth of their staff, I could remember one labourer that was actually given a press operator position after working with an experienced operator for six months. The pay is also good for a living.

Management is great. People are nice, The CSR role is not hard. Pay could be better. Its a great entry level position that would be ideal for a person just starting their customer service career. many advancement opportunities will come up if you wait long enough and have the courage to pursue them.

Have a lot of friends still employed there,but really a dead end job with no possible advancement.Work was not to bad depending on what you were doing.Some of the work very boring.

Huge staff turnover! Toxic work Enviromint! Unrealistic workloads: if some quits, they put more work on you until you burn out. Never address unfair treatment by managers. HR is incompetent. Unrealistic work timelines - they never meet production schedules.

The Behlen company is a decent place to work but the management sucks. They dont care at all about health and safety.  They dont care if you are physically sick.  They have a paint line welding line and presses under the same roof. Everyone inhales toxic gases no ventilation.

Great company to work for, very easy going, very safety cautious, takes pride in our work, gives insensitives, gives you bonuses, just a all around great company to work for and great benefits
