I was let go from Belden Canada due to an error within their company that I did not commit. I did the same reports every day and had no issues prior to one day.

 As previously said about this company the new person is the scapegoat and I couldn't agree with it more after my time there as today I was let go for a mistake I did not commit. I am the type of person that admits to mistakes when I make them. This mistake I did not make. 

I was in Belden Cobourg. They do not know how to train you. They will claim sitting beside you with a computer is training, but when you don't teach anything you're just wasting time. Training with this company was very unproductive. 

Communication from the controller is very weak, and she should learn how to manage a department. 

The notes for the processes I found to be incorrect as I marked them up a lot to correct them.

 They do not pay stat correctly to their employees. They use an outdated rule. 

I came to this company because I was promised a company with structure. That was a lie. 

I came to this company because they told me it was 9 to 5. I left another company to come here. Within my first week they changed it to 7 to 3.

I'd look anywhere else for work. 

For an accounting department to not have any training processes in place just sets you up to be the scape goat for when they make mistakes. I am the victim of that today. 

This is a company that has a reputation of my old spot having high turnover. They don't know how to train. But they will blame the new person. This was not the first company I've ever worked for, I'm not stupid. I know they don't have proper training processes in place. They are not a well organized department. They are a disaster.

DO NOT WORK HERE!!! 



Unfortunately, extremely poor managment with consistent beratment of operators. Although I can not speak for the administrative staff, on the floor its a grueling, depressing, hateful experience. You're expected to run antique machines in disrepair with zero support staff to fix said issues. This while also being held to a standard of making quality wire, with the risk of being disciplined with an unpaid day (or multiple) off. They consistently run out of materials required to do said jobs, improperly schedule orders, and supply poor quality broken tools to accomplish it. You have to keep your opinions to yourself however, as the management team will not hear any of it as they enjoy their daily catered lunches while you work hard for zero incentives or praise. They have a points reward system in place yes, but we're told that "The allowance for points has been used for this month". As some will freely explain to you, they reward each other in the administrative departmant to collect whatever rewards they can. It is an unorganized, chaotic, unfriendly, unwelcoming work enviorment. With the amount of job openings in this current world with this same rate of pay, stay FAR away from Belden. No amount of money is worth the stress and depression this job will give you.

I worked in Finance and the worst ever. The boss is mean, reckless, heartless and staff always looking forward to early retirement. Highly not recommended. Positions in finance always vacant with very high turn over. Salary is the only good thing but very much not worth it. I will warn against working here as you will develope high blood pressure. I went to hospital for high blood pressure and many of the staffs are stressed..Suffering and smilling. Totally not worth it, ask to be told the truth about so many staffs turn over and what happended. The woman director of Finance appears to be nice but very mean and confess to have anger problems but Management will not remove her for some reasons I do not know. Very old systems that does not work well and high pressure for month end close. Month end close is a disaster as till date there is no streamline process in place. New staffs is often the scapegoat. You will be treated well in the begining, the calm before the storm. Happier with life when i left the company.

My experience with Belden is great. The people on the floor are great, the salary team is great and we are paid fair wages to do our jobs. The benefits are very good. Training is good. They bring in food trucks, Christmas dinners, cookie days, donut days, brovo points and gift cards, there is always food in HR for everyone, there are water stations on hot summer days, gatorade and sometimes freezies.
The people that complain about Belden were probably fired because they broke the rules and deserved to be fired. There are new machines coming in replacing old ones all the time. The lake is across the street. Its a great place to work and everyone who has a job here should know that other places are alot worse and they should be grateful and think about who pays them so your family has food to eat and a house to live in and vehicles to drive because Belden has been in Cobourg all my life and there are generations of people who work here. Its a great place to work.

Management claims that employees should be "grateful" that theym work at Belden because that's the only way each employee can afford to pay for their rent and food. This is a very disrespectful approach from management, considering it is the worker who generates revenue for the employer, and without the workers, the company has nothing.  This probably explains why employees with Belden have joined the steel workers union, in response to incompetency from management.

The management will scheme behind your back in malicious ways, so it is best for you to get into the union and show solidarity with your fellow workers, and do not trust management whatsoever. 



Worked here for almost 5 years and never seen such a Mickey Mouse operation before. You have supervisors who think it's ok to talk about your personal life with other employees, nothing is confidential.. Employees are very simple minded, lazy and ignorant. They believe the company owes them!! Highly recommend to continue your job search and would only work here if last case scenario!!

Back stabbing an having to look over your shoulders all the time no respect for workers

Mangers do not hold anyone accountable for mistakes and poor decisions. They do not stand up against the union at any times, even when the employee in question should not be in the workplace. Making money is the number one priority, even over the lives of their employees. The managers do not work together well and the workplace is very unorganized all together.

Face pace and busy. Enter orders in the system, answer emails, phone inquiries, filing and any other daily task like filing, sorting etc. They give you the tools you need to learn and grow. Staff and Management is helpful, patient and always available to lend a hand. Hardest part of the job is learning the various material.
Most enjoyable is the atmosphere and constantly being busy.

Worked at belden for 13 yrs as a machine operator. I ran a number of machine rewind which means taken wire that's been extruded onto big reels into many different multiples as well as a cabler which is taken many different wires and different gauges and twisting them all into 1 wire..becomes a cable as well as a armoring machine this machine is taken aluminum and armoring different sized  wirecables
