Benson started out as a great opportunity, I quickly advanced within my first three months working for the company. Though, I just as quickly witnessed how Benson Group is like a revolving door - always hiring, always firing. If the management does not like you, they will dig for anything to get rid of you. I watched many hard working people get the boot strictly because they weren’t liked as individuals. This company will not pay you over minimum wage, EVEN if you exceed in your work - or have the proper qualifications. They have people working there that have been there 17+ years and still only making minimum wage, which is crazy for the amount they put up with. 

You are not allowed to talk while you are working. You can only “talk” during your (2) 10 minute stretching breaks (which is a joke) and your lunch. They have an incredibly weird dress code - which is very outdated & don’t get me started on the cleanliness of the place ... or lack there of, the bathroom toilets are always leaking water everywhere or aren’t cleaned, it’s a mess.

Benefits are way too expensive for what you get, and they don’t make it easy to opt out. 

Benson Group is a fast pace, productive place to work with no shortage of challenging opportunities to learn and grow a career in IT. Staff and management are friendly, helpful and provide employees with the opportunity to work on many different aspects of the job, whether you enjoy hands on work, customer support, software & data or coding, the opportunities are there.
Benson Group is also a hub of support in the community of Cornwall and provides employees with numerous opportunities to participate and volunteer time in the community. Having access to learn and gain this knowledge and experience, without having to travel to a big city is rare, which certainly contributes to a positive job work/life balance.

As a casual part-time employee, I am very fortunate to be working in such a caring company, with opportunities to learn on the job daily.  Management staff are always helpful in solving any difficulties, that I encounter.  From the ownership right down the line and including warehouse personnel, I  have no negative remarks to make whatsoever.  The Benson Group has always been an equal opportunity employer as well as a very active community supporter in the city of Cornwall.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Assigned a truck, no hot seat. 
Good report with higher up's.
Get well with all personel, like family.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with other subs, took 8 months to get them not to waist the company's time.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Auto parts, tires, and retread tires.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start approximately 4 pm, leave by hopefully 6 pm, drive to Belleville from Cornwall, pin to pin, then return, fuel, DEF, park trailer, do post trip on truck and trailer, park truck and leave.

Family owned business, with owners who actively participate in the day to day running of the business. They are willing to help employees in need and take a pro-active stand to helping those achieve their personal potential. Friendly employees in both the warehouse and offices makes for a fun environment overall. I have been employed by the Benson Group for over 20 years and truly enjoy working for this company. 

This is and was the worst company in Cornwall to work for. There is to much favouritism in this place you get written up  for anything stupid heck you can have a sneezing fit because of so much dust in this place and they will write you up. You can't even say hi to another co worker without them getting mad at you it's like a prison yard. i do not recommend anyone working for this company.

Benson Group is a great place to work.  They provide the training and knowledge needed to learn and advance in your position.   The work is challenging and never dull.  You are treated well and get the respect for a job well done.   I love my job and the people I work with.   I would definitely recommend Benson Group for anyone that is looking for work.

The work is varied and we have the opportunity to work with many different facets of the business and with different members of our staff.

This is a great family oriented company to work for. They have family friendly hours of 8-4:30. There is a referral program with good group benefits. The management is always willing to answer questions and teach new things. If you are eager to learn, they will teach! The owners of the company are in building and always say hello. It’s great to work for a family run company!
