I liked working here, learnt about bookies and how they operate, handling money and customer queries was exciting but got very dull, pay wasn't too great, lack of staff didn't help. Managment expect too much, can't take no for an answer. Most Customers and staff made the job fun.
Can make a routine out of shift, however shift patterns arnt great, but that depends on your manager.

Seniors are never available when needed and they run business like family business. They have their own rules for different person

As a shop manager i had very good team to work with.

Exciting and fun with customers who come and spend time

I worked at Betfred for 3 years, 2 of those were as Sales Manager. I can honestly say I have never worked for such a sheer shambles of a company in my life.
Area Management were utterly clueless. Inconsistent in disciplinary procedures. 
If your face fit you were fine. If you dared stand up for yourself then they will do all in their power to get rid of you. 
Poor wages, poor hours, expected to work more than 40 hours every week. 
Staff turnover so high that they will hire utterly anybody.

The company has some shocking practices through out the company staff are under valued and over worked, shop staff normally working 60-70 hour weeks as a normal pattern, then if they turn up slightly late following long shifts with no proper breaks as often single manning they get a disciplinary some good, friends around Manchester that work for the company have ran them selves into the ground, it seems the same pattern across the country,

Forced to work most of my shifts alone. I am barely allowed breaks. Easy to get a disciplinary and if you get 3 within a certain amount of time, you risk losing your job. If you call in sick a certain amount of times, you get a disciplinary, no one checks up on your health or mental health. I do not recommend ANYONE working here! Managers and till workers are on the same payroll, which I don't deem as fair considering managers do a lot more!

The days were long, but in the fast paced environment you are too busy and focused to clock watch. I learned a lot working here from other staff members and management. I enjoyed the challenge, however, even with the long days work, the wage is not sustainable.

Not everyday is the same when you work in a book makers.You learn a lot every day.Hardest part of the job is dealing with a customer complaint when you don't know how to deal with it. Saturdays are the busiest and best day to work, in the week however is it quiet. The people you work with make the day more enjoyable.

When your shop is doing well, they leave you to it, not much praise from their part but as soon as it goes wrong, they're quick to tell you so. You feel so undervalued that it makes you feel like all the hard work and time you have put in is all for nothing

It was ok but the hours do get the best of you at times you have to be able to remember alot of rules take alot of test and put up news papers in the right order do the banking every hour you have to do a tilll check I enjoyed the experience will do it again

Freindly work enviroment but pay and hours they expect you to do are ridulous just dont tell them you drive because i was shipped off to 5 different shops everyday you could never learn anything because all shops work differently but i must say i loved working there
