As an apprentice a typical day consisted of mainly tire swaps and oil changes. Pushy managers that have no clue how long things can take in a shop, everything needs to be done quicker until there’s a mistake or something got missed. Suddenly their tune changes from not working quick enough to you need to slow down and be more careful. Managers all played favourites and didn’t even try to hide it. Very little training was ever given when starting out, and the company as a whole does not care about your apprenticeship or furthering your education. They tried to tell me I couldn’t go to trade school during tire season - that’s not legal but they don’t want you to know that. 

Typical day 
Dealing with customer is an enjoying. People are friendly and understanding for the most part. 
I learned a lot about tires while I was there and the importance of why we need to use the proper tires for our everyday driving.
Management was good. The gentlemen that I work with were kind and the techs were good to understand my learning curve I had to deal with.
Hardest part about the job was learning the programs in such a short time and having minimal training.
My boss made it enjoyable to work there and as glad for the experience

Typical work day included solving logistical issues and in the end supplying superior customer service with great attention paid to detail and integrity.   I learned that no matter how hard you try in this industry, you cannot please everyone all the time.  I enjoyed my daily interactions with the customers and making them happy, the hardest part of the job was dealing with the heavily laden corporate dogma that got in the way of seemless service at times.   Co-workers were great!

Checking in is a must to make sure the company isn't blame for actions they didn't commit to, i working on various cars and trucks big and small. I have learned how to safely place a car on a lifted to secure the car and learned how to change gas filters, oil, tire pressure.Management was okay no body complain unless your late, coworkers are fun to be around. Taking out tires and wheels during delivery and taking tires of trucks,learning from people who done it longer makes you wounder how they maintain such good work ethic.

Management and team at the shop level were excellent and for most part easy to work with. The upper management team didn’t seem to care about the employees. Benefits clawed back because the were “abused”, could only order parts from certain suppliers sometimes leading to vehicle on hoist for extended times which wasn’t really customer focused. 

Dealing with customers was the highlight.  Making sure they left with a smile was important,  Although quite knowledgeable in the automotive field, they still managed to show me more.   Management follows the chain of command, unless issues not resolved.  Some of the procedures for the day to day can be taxing   Overall a great experience.

They teach you to do the job in the wrong way and then blame you for making mistakes management doesn’t care to help anyone succeed. They just care about the bottom dollar and have no respect for people that are older age and have a hard time getting over illnesses when they do get sick And they change your job title, but get paid for one 

Fun place with plenty of experienced techs willing to help the younger techs out.  Younger techs love the fact that our Sr. technicians spend time teaching . We are always updating our equipment and staying current with new vehicles systems and processes. Great Place to Learn.

Beverly Tire was my first co-op in high school. It was in the technician side of the industry as that is how I got into the industry. I learned a lot about how the shop, technicians, and how the vehicles work. The employees I worked with were very helpful in my learning of vehicles.
